2020 NJCAA DII Men’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll – Week 2
NEW ORLEANS – It’s getting a lot tighter at the top of the NJCAA Division II Men’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll after a few weeks of competition.
Three different programs earned first-place votes as the top-5 looks completely different from a few weeks ago.

Cross Country Polls & Rankings
Cowley (Kan.) CC is the new No. 1 after jumping three spots from No. 4. The Tigers, who hauled in seven of 12 possible first-place votes, are still riding high off a strong finish at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic two weeks ago.
Allen (Kan.) CC snagged four first-place votes and vaulted one spot from No. 3 to No. 2. The Red Devils have posted back-to-back wins to begin the season – the first coming at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic and then again this past weekend at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational, where they put three runners in the top-10.
Former No. 1 North Iowa Area CC fell two spots to No. 3. The Trojans placed second in back-to-back meets and will resume competition this weekend at the Southwestern Spartan Classic.
Hawkeye (Iowa) CC held steady at No. 4 and enters its next meet riding a wave of confidence after winning the last time out. The RedTails won an exciting battle against St. Ambrose (Iowa) at the Fighting Bee Invitational two weeks ago, putting four runners in the top-10.
There is a two-way tie for fifth place between Heartland (Ill.) CC and Wallace State (Ala.) CC. Just this past weekend, Heartland CC won its own invitational, toppling a top-10 NJCAA Division I program in the process. Wallace State also competed this past weekend, finishing eighth in a meet loaded with four-year programs from NCAA Division II.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams: No. 7 Daytona State (Fla.) College, No. 8 Metropolitan (Mo.) CC, No. 9 Marion Military Institute and No. 10 Grand Rapids (Mich.) CC.
