Daniel Roberts Now No. 2 All-Time In 110 Meter Hurdles

Daniel Roberts won’t be denied.

The Kentucky star now stands alone as the second fastest man in collegiate history in the 110 Meter Hurdles after blistering the track on Day 1 of the 2019 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships to the tune of 13.06.

You’re reading that correctly: 13.06.

Roberts entered the meet tied with rival Grant Holloway of Florida for the No. 2 spot on the all-time chart at 13.07. The pair ran those times at the SEC Championships last month on different days (Holloway in the prelims on Friday; Roberts to win the final on Saturday).

Six weeks later, Roberts lowered his PR by .01 seconds, shattered the NCAA meet record and moved within .07 seconds of breaking one of the oldest collegiate records in the sport: Renaldo Nehemiah’s 13.00 that he clocked back in 1979 for a then-world record.

Roberts has been an absolute terror to the record book in 2019. He has notched three of the top-7 marks in collegiate history this season alone: No. 2, t-No. 3, No. 7.

You’ll want to tune in for the final on Friday at 8:12 pm CT.
