1982年生まれ、千葉県出身。東京音楽大学、同大学院修了（2008）、ローム ミュージック ファンデーション奨学金、文化庁新進芸術家海外研修制度、デンハーグ王立音楽院より助成を受け、アムステルダム音楽院およびデン・ハーグ王立音楽院を修了（2009-2014）、インドネシア政府奨学金および野村財団より助成を受け、インドネシア国立芸術大学スラカルタ校でジャワ・ガムランの演奏と理論を学ぶ（2014-2015）。これまでに作曲を池辺晋一郎、伊左治直、遠藤雅夫、佐藤眞、藤原豊、福田陽、細川俊夫、Wim Henderickx、Martijn Padding、Yannis Kyriakides各氏に師事。

オーケストラ作品《ケサランパサラン》で第17回芥川作曲賞受賞（2007）。その後、第76回日本音楽コンクール作曲部門第2位と聴衆賞、第18回出光音楽賞、アリオン賞等を受賞。2016年トンヨン国際音楽祭で初演された《布袋》で、アジア作曲家ショーケース・ゲーテ賞ならびに聴衆賞を受賞。これまでにひろしまオペラ・音楽推進委員会、九州交響楽団などから委嘱を受ける他、作品は、新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団など多数の国内オーケストラや、Asko|Schönberg Ensemble、Nieuw Ensemble、東京混声合唱団、ヴォクスマーナ、アンサンブル・ジェネシス、大井浩明、大萩康司、村田厚生、吉原すみれ各氏、武生国際音楽祭、ガウデアムス国際音楽週間（ユトレヒト）、上海現代音楽週間、Music From Japan Festival（ニューヨーク）、Toonzetters（アムステルダム）、テレビ朝日「題名のない音楽会」、NHK教育テレビ、NHK-FM「現代の音楽」等で演奏、紹介されている。2020年、ニューヨークで開催されたMusic From Japan Festivalでは招待作曲家として特集され、室内楽作品《毘沙門》の世界初演を含む複数の作品が取り上げられた。自作自演ユニット「鬼子母神不眠ガールズ」、エロティシズムをテーマとするアート・ユニット「すけべ人間」各メンバー。近年は、国内外で活躍するプロフェッショナルな音楽家と振付家がタッグを組み、子どものための最高水準で先進的なパフォーミングアーツを創造・上演するグループ「どうぶつおんがくたい」のメンバーとして活動している。

作品の題材によって様々な作曲スタイルを用いながらも、斬新なオーケストレーション、細やかな音形や特殊奏法などによって造られる音響のテクスチュアと色彩が、小出の作風を特徴づけている。近作に、オーケストラのための《南の雨に耽る》《博多ラプソディ》、4人の打楽器奏者のための《Jamtic Jamtac》などがある。2022年10月にはBBC Radio 3の委嘱による新作《揺籠（ゆりかご）と糸引き雨》が、BBC交響楽団により世界初演される。

Noriko Koide - Biography

Noriko KOIDE (b.1982, Chiba) obtained her master’s degree in composition from Tokyo College of Music (2008), Conservatorium van Amsterdam (2011), and Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (2014) with the grants from the Rohm Music Foundation (2009-13), Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (2012-2013), and the Overseas Study Program for Artists provided by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan (2013-14). She has been interested in the methods of note decoration used in traditional Javanese Gamelan music, and studied Gamelan performance and its theory at the Institut Seni Indonesia Surakarta, with the grants given by the Darmasiswa Indonesian Scholarship Program, and the Nomura Foundation in 2014-15. She studied under Shin-ichiro Ikebe, Sunao Isaji, Masao Endo, Shin Satoh, Yutaka Fujiwara, Akira Fukuda, Toshio Hosokawa, Wim Henderickx, Martijn Padding, and Yannis Kyriakides.

She has won the Akutagawa Award for Music Composition (2007) with her Keselanpatharan for orchestra. She has also received: the Audience Award, and placed second in the 76th Music Competition of Japan, 18th Idemitsu Music Award, and Arion Prize. In the Tongyeong International Music Festival 2016, she has won Asian Composers Showcase’s Goethe-Award and its Audience Award with her Hotei which was premiered there. She has been commissioned by Hiroshima Opera Music Promotion Committee and the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra. Her works have been performed and featured by: the New Japan Philharmonic and many other domestic orchestras, Asko|Schönberg Ensemble, Nieuw Ensemble, Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus, Vox humana, Ensemble Genesis, Hiroaki Ooi, Yasuji Ohagi, Kousei Murata, Sumire Yoshihara, Takefu International Music Festival, International Gaudeamus Music Week (Utrecht), Shanghai New Music Week, Music From Japan Festival (New York), Toonzetters (Amsterdam), TV programs for TV Asahi, and NHK Educational, and NHK-FM Gendai no Ongaku (Music of today). In 2020, she was featured as an invited composer at the Music From Japan Festival in New York and several works including the premiered piece, Bishamon were introduced.

She is currently a member of an avant-garde pop duo, Kishibojin Fumin Girls, and a multi-dimensional art group project that focuses on eroticism, Sukebeningen. In recent years, she has been working as a member of the Doubutsu Ongakutai, a group of professional musicians and choreographers active in and outside of Japan who work together to create and present innovative performing arts for children at the highest level.

Though she uses various compositional styles depending on the theme of each work, her works can be characterized by the textures and colours formed by the resonance of innovative orchestration, fine musical shapes, and extended techniques. Her recent works include In Southern Rain for orchestra (2018) and Jamtic Jamtac for percussion quartet (2016). In October 2022, the new work Swaddling Silks and Gossamer Rain commissioned by BBC Radio 3 will be premiered by BBC Symphony Orchestra.
