South Carolina Commission for the Blind
The South Carolina Commission for the Blind helps residents of our state who are blind or have a visual impairment gain independence and take advantage of opportunities for financial advancement.
Opportunities for All
Working with our network of business, community and government partners, we provide training, job placement and business opportunities for hundreds of South Carolinians each year. Our offices are conveniently located throughout the state and we take referrals for our services from physicians, family members, community partners or potential consumers.
Employment
Vocational Rehabilitation assists eligible consumers with finding, maintaining, or regaining employment. Business Enterprise Program assists qualified individuals to operate a vending business. Employment Services assist businesses with meeting workforce needs.

Children’s Services assist children ages 3 to 12 with building confidence and independence and ensuring they have assistive technology available at home. Older Blind Services assist those 55 and older in remaining independent within their homes and communities.

We provide education on Prevention of Blindness and eye safety around the state, and financial assistance for sight-saving procedures for individuals who don’t have insurance or who meet financial need requirements.
