Big Day of Giving!

The Big Day of Giving is coming, May 02, 2024, when the community shows support for Sacramento area non-profits through donations. We at the Sacramento History Museum hope you consider making a donation. Your support enables us to provide education scholarships and develop new school programs, plus create exhibits to share our history and your stories. Don’t wait! Early Giving is underway NOW!

Spring Festival!

Celebrate Spring with the fun, free and family-friendly Old Sacramento Spring Festival, Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 11 am – 3 pm.  Join us for hourly dances around a 15-foot maypole, as well as traditional country dances to live music. Festival attendees can also enjoy historic living history demonstrations, hands-on arts-and-crafts stations, hobby-horse races, gold panning, face painting, lawn games, and more.

Underground After Hours

Spend a night on the new town with a shady character from the past, who’ll show you around to the saloons, gaming halls, theaters and houses of ill-fame – places you can only see in the twilight. Meet swindlers, soiled doves and sneaky speculators! Hear all the gossip on murders of passion, political intrigue, and the century’s most notorious woman! Needless to say, you must be 18 or older to take part.
