FITNESS Boxing

Whether you want a fun way to get and stay in shape, or you have a desire to compete, this is the place to start. All fitness and experience levels are welcome. This is a non-contact class. The hour-long classes are a mix of traditional boxing routines with a focus on proper technique and form. Boxing exercises incorporate heavy bag, speed bag and double-end bag work, as well as shadowboxing, mitts and conditioning circuits.

Boxing is a great way for kids to get and stay healthy, gain confidence and learn self-discipline. Boxing is excellent cross training for other sports. Our Youth Boxing Program is for kids ages 7-14. In this one-hour class your child will learn the fundamentals of boxing and hone their skills. It's also the place to begin if your child is interested in competition. Sparring is optional and only with approval of the coach.

Our Ready to Fight Parkinson's-specific Boxing Program is the official therapy-boxing program of USA Boxing. Exercise has been shown to improve physical function, quality of life, cardiovascular fitness, cognition and balance for individuals with Parkinson's. Boxing exercises are particularly well-suited to address the specific symptoms of Parkinson's disease.

The Engine Room is a certified USA Boxing Gym with certified USA Boxing coaches. Since 2009, we've been coaching and preparing professional and amateur boxers of all levels to become ring-ready.   With win percentages in the 90th percentile, we're home to several nationally-ranked amateur boxers and former national champions. If you are new to boxing, your path to the ring begins by gaining basic skills in our fitness boxing classes. Entry to our competition team is through a try out process. Contact us for more information. Boxing is a great sport. If you or your child wants to compete as an amateur boxer the Engine Room is a great place to begin or continue your training. Amateur boxing , contrary to what you might think, is a very safe and rewarding sport.
