About

Bettina Meier-Bickel has been actively involved in the art world for more than 25 years. At Christie’s in New York, she got first insights into auctioning, especially in provenance research and cataloging. During her studies, she gained experience in the gallery business at Galerie Bruno Bischofberger. After completing her master’s degree in art history at the University of Zurich, she was able to deepen her knowledge at Galerie Jürg Judin and later at Galerie Bob van Orsouw, where she was mainly responsible for artist liaisons and client support. At Kunstmuseum Luzern she expanded her skill set in exhibition concept, curatorial practices and collection management.

Alongside her formal roles, she always conveyed her know-how to visitors by leading guided tours through the various museums and on cultural trips throughout Europe.

As co-owner and co-director of Rotwand, a gallery for contemporary art in Zurich, she was responsible for numerous exhibitions and artist projects, fair participations and various art events until its closure in 2017.
