Prep: A multi-year letter winner for Brodie Merrill at the Hill Academy … Drafted by the Toronto Beaches in the OLA Junior A Draft in 2012 … In just his first year playing in the Ontario Junior B lacrosse league and in only 17 games, Downs led the Mimico Mountaineer’s in scoring (71) and in goals (47) … He also finished 3^rd in assists (24) … Had 14 games with at least 3 points … Ranked 5^th overall in goals scored … 24^th overall in points scored … At the end of his first season, Downs was named the 2012 Ontario Junior B lacrosse Rookie of the year … In 2013 he joined the Junior A Toronto Beaches … He finished 4^th on the team in scoring with 32 points in just 15 games … 19 goals and 13 assists … During his junior and senior year of high school, Downs attended Everest Academy and helped lead them to multiple tournament championships … In 5-4 win over Brother Rice, Downs put on an impressive showing scoring all 5 goals for Everest … For his post-graduate year, Downs attended the Hill Academy and was a key part of their success … He was also a multi-year letter winner in hockey.
