News from the Health Suite
Medication Pick up: If your child has medication in the health room, it must be picked up by 3PM on June 9th. Per CCPS policy an adult must be the one to pick up the student’s medication. All medication that is not picked up by 3PM on that day will be discarded unless you have contacted the school nurse to arrange another time to pick up the medication.
Medication for next school year: If your child will need medication for next school year, please have your doctor fill out a CCPS medication order form. For your child to have medication at school, they need a completed medication order form and a new unopened in the box/bottle with a new pharmacy label on the medication. If you come to drop off medication next year without a completed medication order form and the medication is not in an unopened box/bottle with the pharmacy label you will not be able to leave it in the health room. No exceptions. If your child has a self-carry order, the doctor must state that on the medication order form and the parent must sign the form too. No exceptions will be given. It is against CCPS policy for a student to carry medication unless prescribed by their doctor.
Health Forms: If you received a letter stating your child was missing health forms they need to be completed before the start of the next school year for your child to be compliant to attend school. Maryland law now requires all children to have an immunization record and a blood lead test on file.
News from the Media Center
Our media center is holding a book return contest. The first grade to return all of their media books will receive a special treat on the last day of school. Look under those beds, couches, coffee tables, and seats in the car. You never know where your media book may be hiding from you! Bring it back to school and drop it by the media center when you find it. Good luck to all of our grades!
News from the Music Room
Mrs. McCusker would like to thank the Linton PTA and the parents of the 4th and 2nd grade students for their generosity in support of the musical plays. Your time, creativity, and effort make the productions extra special for students and we couldn’t do it without you!
Summer Reading Program
The Carroll County Public Library will be holding their summer reading program, “All Together Now” from June 1st to August 1st, 2023.
Sign up at any branch or online at: http://carr.beanstack.org/reader365
Earn points by reading books, submitting written or picture reviews online and completing activities. Receive a book donated by Penguin Random House when you earn 300 and 1000 points. Books will be available after July 1. Participants can enter into virtual raffles through Beanstack as they complete the program. There will be monthly in-branch prize drawings as well.
The CCPL librarians will be here at Linton Springs all day Wednesday, June 7th to book talk some great summer reads and talk about the summer reading program with all of our students during specials. Our PTA is also giving out raffle tickets for some amazing prizes to all students who complete the summer reading program. Watch for a flyer coming home from the PTA with more information.
