Volunteer With the District

The School District of Menomonee Falls welcomes family and community member volunteers to support our students and staff throughout the year. Volunteer opportunities exist throughout the District. Volunteers provide supervision on field trips, plan school community events, offer fundraising and donation support, and actively engage in classrooms to support student learning. We appreciate our volunteers for the thousands of hours of service, and hundreds of thousands of dollars raised in support of our students, programs and schools. Thank you!

Effective May 15, 2020, SDMF has implemented an online volunteer application and background check process. To ensure the safety of our students, all volunteers are required to have an approved criminal background check prior to volunteering.

Background checks are required for any volunteer (including parents) who meets any of the following criteria:

Volunteer may come into contact with students
Volunteer will be inside a school or on school grounds
Volunteer has a regular or ongoing assignment at a school
Volunteer will be off campus with students
Volunteer will be chaperoning a field trip
Volunteer is a mentor to a student or group of students
Volunteer is a coach or club advisor
Volunteer will communicate with students (i.e., pen pals)

Please be advised that background checks can take up to 3-5 days, during regular business hours Monday - Friday, to complete the automated process.

Volunteer with Falls Schools

There are many opportunities to volunteer with our schools. You can become a member of our PTO/PIE or booster organizations, assist with athletic teams or in classrooms, chaperone field trips, or help within the schools themselves as well as other activities and clubs. Please contact the school principal or our senior volunteer supervisor for possible opportunities to volunteer

As a volunteer with the School District of Menomonee Falls, we ask you agree to the required expectations and responsibilities of confidentiality and safety, which are consistent for all SDMF district employees. All volunteer applications are kept confidential with our SDMF Human Resources office. Approved volunteers will need to submit a volunteer application every year.

If you are new to volunteering with the School District of Menomonee Falls or need to renew your volunteer application, please complete the online Volunteer Application after July 4, 2023. Please be advised that background checks can take up to 48-96 hours, during regular business hours Monday - Friday, to complete the automatic process.

Rights to Privacy

During your time as a volunteer you may be given access to certain information about students and staff. The U.S. Congress has enacted the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act that ensures that our volunteers need to be mindful of confidentiality and ensure that they do not share or discuss any information or facts that they see or hear at school with others. Confidentiality is very important to maintain the integrity of our students and parents.

ERAS Senior Program

Eras Senior Network is a community-centered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Waukesha County, Wisconsin.

Our programs reduce isolation for older adults and mobilize volunteers to make important contributions to community needs. The agency is the result of a successful 2007 merger between RSVP of Waukesha County started in Waukesha County in 1977 and Interfaith Caregiving Network incorporated in 1991.

Collectively the agency brings more than 54 years of experience to the community, serves over 1,000 seniors and adults with disabilities each year, and coordinates more than 2,300 volunteers.RSVP volunteers respond to critical needs in Waukesha County including nutrition, housing, transportation, education, healthcare, and social isolation. Each year RSVP volunteers provide approximately 25,000 hours of service to 19 schools and 23 government and nonprofit organizations.Faith In Action services are provided to seniors (60+) and adults (18+) with disabilities to assist in maintaining independent living. Transportation is the most requested service, and the program coordinates approximately 4,500 rides to doctor appointments and food pantries each year.
