Hi there, in this video, let’s take a quick look at how to download and upload files from and to AEM assets using the Adobe Asset link Panel for a Creative User. Adobe Asset Link streamlines collaboration between creative professionals and marketers in the content creation process. It connects Adobe Experience Manager Assets with the Creative Cloud desktop applications like InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. The Adobe Asset Link Panel allows creatives to access and modify content stored in AEM Assets without leaving the apps they are most familiar with. From the Creative Cloud product toolbar options, choose Window and from the extensions list, select Adobe Asset Link. Let’s choose the AEM environment and navigate to your organization’s Asset folders.
To download a file to your local machine, select an Asset file from the panel and use the download option from the Assets context menu. Upon successful Asset download, you would receive a banner message indicating the file download status, and the file opens up in a Window in your Creative Cloud application. When you download an Asset file, an AEM Assets folder gets created in your download directory, along with the download file and it’s entire folder structure and hierarchy. Any additional file downloads would result in merely adding files along with its folder hierarchy to the existing Assets folder in your downloads. Now, let’s take a look at how to upload a file to AEM Assets from Adobe Asset Link panel, navigate to the AEM Assets folder, where you would like to upload an Asset before we perform a file upload operation, make sure to open the Asset file in your application and keep it as a current Window. At the bottom of the Asset Link panel, you can notice an icon to upload an Asset that’s currently open in your Creative Cloud application, click on the Asset upload option, and your file will now be uploaded to the selected AEM Assets folder. Upon successful Asset upload, you would receive a banner message indicating the file upload status. If there exists another file in the AEM Assets folder with the same file name as what you’re uploading, you will be notified with the name Conflict Message. You will have options to upload your current file as a new version to an existing file in the AEM Assets folder or you could choose to keep both files in the same directory. If you decide to keep both files, AEM would simply rename the new file name to resolve the name Conflict. I hope I was able to show you how to upload and download files to and from AEM Assets using Adobe Asset Link panel, Adobe Asset Link, streamlines collaboration between creative professionals and marketers in the content creation process. -
