Hello, everyone. In this video, we will show you how to apply policy created using documents security module, to a PDF document in Acrobat. The documents security service enables users to dynamically apply confidentiality settings to Adobe PDF documents and to maintain control over them, no matter how widely they are distributed. To apply a policy created using documents security module to a PDF file, the first step is to ensure that the policy is created on the admin UI. After this, you need to configure the AEM forms server in Acrobat. To do so, open Adobe Acrobat application and click on edit option at the top of the window. Now select preferences from the dropdown menu. In this dialog box, click on security and select more. In the service setting dialog box, click on new icon and enter the configuration information of the server. Once done click on connect to this server. Enter the login username and password and click on login. You will get a success message on your screen, after connecting to the server. Now open the required PDF document in Acrobat and select protect from the right-hand panel on the window. Click on advanced options located at the top of the document and select managed security policies from the dropdown menu. Here, you can see various policies created on your server with its details. Select the policy you want to apply to your document from the given list. For example, we are applying a policy to restrict the duration of accessing the document from 23 to 28th of February 2021. This means that the document won’t be accessible after 28th of February 2021. After selecting the required policy, click on apply to document option. Save the document and reopen it to see the applied changes. If you try to open the document, post the expiration date, it shows an error message stating that the permission to view this document has expired.
