How to capture HAR (HTTP archive) logs

Hello, everyone. In this video, we will show you how to capture HAR logs in Google Chrome. It is sometimes important to obtain information about network logs in your browser while troubleshooting complex issues. In this case, you may need to record HAR file and then use it for further analysis. You can do so by following some simple steps. Open Google Chrome in your system, and go to page where the issue is occurring. In the top right corner, look for vertical ellipses button. Now select “More tools” and go to “Developer tools.” Select “Network” tab from the panel. Check the “Preserve log” box and click on “Clear” button to clear out any existing logs from the Network tab. Now click on the round gray button at the upper left corner of the tab to start recording the logs. This button turns red once the recording starts. Replicate the issue while the network logs are being recorded. For example, if you are facing issues in changing password for admin user, start recording logs and then traverse to “Change Password” option for the admin username. Once you have reproduced the issue, stop recording using the red round button at the top left corner. Now click on “Download” to save this as HAR file in your system. This file can now be shared for further analysis and troubleshooting. You can analyze these logs through various tools. One such tool is HAR Analyzer by Google. Simply upload the HAR file through “Choose file” option, and you can analyze this file for troubleshooting any issues. So this is how you can capture HAR logs in your browser. To access this option in Firefox, go to Menu, then “Web Developer,” and click on “Network” tab.
