In this virtual Institute, participants will focus on cultivating a school climate that supports the goals of anti-bias and social justice education. Live workshops are led by expert Sarah Wicht from Teaching Tolerance. The special guest speaker will be Dr. Terrence Roberts, one of the Little Rock Nine, to engage in dialogue with participants on grappling with difficult history and perspectives on achieving racial justice in our schools today. Asynchronous content includes on-demand museum virtual tours, videos and readings. Participants will leave the Institute with the tools to:
Identify characteristics of school environments that reflect diversity, equity and justice.
Gain strategies for investigating approaches to educational leadership, including interrogating our individual circle of control and ability to influence important inclusive practice in educational institutions-digitally and in-person.
Engage in ongoing reflection on their circle of concern, circle of influence and circle of control as it relates to their role as an educator.
Walk away with access to extensive hands-on free resources to bring the vision to life.
