We are closing out celebrating Women's History Month with the last feature in our #WomenInProcurement series this week spotlighting our New 2024 NASPO Board President Valerie Bollinger! With over 10 years in the industry Valerie has experience from just about every perspective of cooperative contracting and procurement. She has been in a position of leadership with the Division of Idaho Purchasing since 2016 starting off as State Purchasing Manager and now currently serving as the Chief Procurement Officer for the State of Idaho managing their state cooperative. Valerie holds a B.S. in Biology from Loyola University Maryland; J.D. from University of Pittsburgh College of Law as well as CPPO and CPPB certifications. In our final featured Q&A Valerie shares her insights, achievements, challenges she has faced on her pathway to leadership and ways she has seen the procurement profession change over the course of her career for herself and women. Greetings from cold ❄ East Lansing, Michigan! 📍 Today, the NASPO ValuePoint team led a Supplier Kick-off Meeting for the NEW NASPO ValuePoint portfolio Truck Bodies, Seasonal Maintenance Equipment & Upfitting Services. We were joined by Yvon Dufour, Category Specialist from the Lead state of Michigan, as well as several newly awarded suppliers for the portfolio, with some attending virtually.   In addition to presenting key information about the portfolio and new marketing materials, suppliers had the chance to meet one-on-one with NASPO staff. This included Jessica Burton, CPPO, CPPB, NIGP-CPP, Cooperative Portfolio Manager, Holmlund Meghan, Supplier Engagement Manager, Tanya Campbell, Supplier Engagement Manager, and Micah Gibson, Communications Coordinator. Suppliers were able to ask questions and learn more about all the resources available to them as NVP Supplier partners. Here are the highlights of yesterday's Innovation Stage presentation, which consisted of diving into the world of social media marketing. The NASPO ValuePoint team provided an overview of the Social Toolkit that will be completed and available to NASPO suppliers starting summer 2024. Attendees got a digital tour of some of the online resources that will be accessible to new and current suppliers such as the social media assets, best practices guide, and more. Happy Women's History Month! 👩💻 Throughout March, we'll be celebrating women in procurement every week with our "Women in Procurement Wednesdays" interview series. 💡We'll be highlighting the accomplishments and contributions of women to the procurement field and to NASPO. To kick things off, enjoy this video featuring Paula Moskowitz, who made history as NASPO's first female president in 1993. Paula was the Director of Procurement for the New York State Office of General Services from 1992 to 2003, where she played a pivotal role leading relief and recovery in the wake of September 11th. Paula’s impactful contributions to NASPO and procurement extend to include her role as the driving force behind the inception of the How to Market to State Governments Meeting, known today as NASPO Exchange. We are honored to have Paula as a Life Member of NASPO. Thank you, Paula, for sharing your career journey in procurement and everything you have done within the profession!
