I-64 Chesapeake Express Lanes and Norfolk Reversible Express Lanes

The Chesapeake Express Lanes are on I-64 from just east of the I-264/I-664 Bowers Hill interchange, across the High Rise Bridge and up to the I-264 interchange in Norfolk. The I-64 Norfolk Reversible Express Lanes are located between the I-264 and I-564 interchanges. Both operate continuous high-occupancy tolling operations full-time. 

As of March 17, the new hours for tolling operations for the Norfolk Reversible Express Lanes are:

I-64 east:

• Mon. to Fri. 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day
• Fri. from 11 p.m. to Sun. at 11 a.m.

I-64 west:

• Mon. to Fri. 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. each day
• Sun. 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

An E-ZPass transponder is required to use the Express Lanes.

An E-ZPass transponder is required to use the I-64 Chesapeake Express Lanes and Norfolk Reversible Express Lanes.

Solo drivers can choose the free general purpose lanes or pay a variable toll to use the Express Lanes with an E-ZPass transponder. For vehicles with only two passengers, the Express Lanes remain free with those with an E-ZPass Flex transponder switched to “HOV-On.”
