To promote a safe campus environment and help limit the spread of COVID-19, The University of Toledo is making disposable face masks available to faculty, staff and students.

The surgical-style masks, which the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says offer more protection than cloth masks, are being offered for free on both campuses.

Members of the campus community can now pick up disposable masks at the following locations during regular business hours:

•  Carlson Library circulation desk

•  Mulford Library circulation desk

•  Student Recreation Center front desk

•  Morse Fitness Center front desk

•  Office of the Provost, University Hall Room 3340

Masks also will be available for residential students in each residence hall.

The University will be sharing additional information with department leaders about how they can request masks for their individual areas.

UToledo continues to require everyone to wear well-fitting masks that fully cover the nose and mouth, regardless of their vaccination status, while indoors on campus. Individuals are not required to wear masks while alone in their office or while eating.

Disposable, hospital-grade masks also are required for all employees and visitors at The University of Toledo Medical Center, including in non-clinical areas. Patients and visitors wearing cloth masks will be provided a disposable mask that can be worn alone or under their cloth mask.
