My Latest YA Novel

Endorsement

“Written with belief that every side of a story deserves to be told, Fences Left Broken beautifully blends the hard truths of history with the healing power of hope. Through the lives of a compelling cast, Terrette takes us on a stirring journey across generations—one that will leave you thinking long after the last page.” -Allie Millington, author of Olivetti

From the Author

“This timeslip novel is rich with history, some little-known and some atrocious and accurate. A ton of research goes into making a historical story correct and weaving the real facts with made-up ones… places, characters, specific circumstances… while remaining true to the times. And this novel’s historical legitimacy is likely to stir up some emotions.

As such, and because it’s part of why I write– to teach anyone who reads this story a side they may not have known before– there is an extensive list at the back with links and works-cited to begin learning and researching on your own.”

BIO

Kristen Terrette, color headshot 2, 2020

Living in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia and with the support of her husband and two children, who are now in middle and high school, Kristen jumped into the publishing world ten years ago. In that time, she’s had five traditionally published novels, a YA novel almost ready for submission, and one story working its way out and into her computer. She is thrilled to have signed with Mara Cobb for literary representation. She’s hoping their partnership will be mighty and fruitful!

Aside from getting down the stories in her head and Social Media Managing, she started a new adventurous career path toward agenting in 2022. She was honored (and surprised!) to receive a coveted spot in the Writers House Intern Program. She loved every minute of it and it paved the way for her to accept a literary manager position with Martin Literary and Media Management. She is diligently working on building her client list and helping these authors get their great works out to the world. She is also thrilled to be an ECPA Emerging Leader for 2024.

INSPIRATION

I confess- I have a Pinterest addiction. It’s my favorite form of social media & my go-to when I need INSPIRATION. It helps bring characters, settings, & historical events to life on the page. Here are some pins from my See You Monday board. Click on a picture to check them out.
