I've said it before and I'll say it again.. Kate's books just keep getting better!
This is her best book yet and I cannot wait to get more from her!

I fell in love with "big brother" Simon in Coming Up Roses, loved him in An Uphill Battle, and have now fallen in love with him as the hero.
I didn't want this to end! I was dragging my feet all day because I wanted to stay with Magnolia and Simon more; but I also wanted to find out what was going to happen.

I fell in love with LK Farlow’s writing with her debut novel. She writes sweet southern charm like nobodies business.
But with Weather The Storm not only does she nail the charm again, she threw in some darkness. I’m blown away by her talent and want everyone to read this amazing story. My heart was racing, pounding, broken entirely. I swooned, I laughed and I loved so very much. When an author can bring out all of your emotions, That people is when you know you’ve read something Special. Like I said the emotions are high and the twists just keep coming. I was hypnotized, glued from the beginning, needing to know what was going to happen at every turn.

I would love to keep going on about Magnolia and Simon because I love them so very much but I don’t want to give anything away. Just know this story is 100% worth the read and you will no doubt love every single minute.

Congratulations Kate! Your talent is amazing!❤️

Weather the Storm is L.K. Farlow's best work yet! Simon and Magnolia stole my heart from the first page and never let go!

I can't begin to tell you how much I adore Simon. He's all that and a bag of chips. Seriously. A southern gentlemen that stays by Mags side when times are hard and stands up for her when necessary but still knows when she needs him to take a step back and give her space.

The end of An Uphill Battle set us up for the beginning of Weather the Storm and the wait to see what would happen to Magnolia pretty much KILLED me, but Lord have mercy it was so worth it! (PS You don't need to read the other two to read this one) The intensity of the beginning of this story really set the tone for the entire story and kept me hooked and engaged from the get go.

The element that really sealed the deal for me in Weather the Storm was a third point of view that was thrown in. Reading this perspective just added a level of depth and angst to the story. The sense of dread that this point of view gave us had me freaking out a little bit on the inside, I was scared for Mags and just hoped that Simon would be there to protect her.

I really enjoyed watching Magnolia grow in strength and confidence as she built a relationship with Simon. Seeing her come into her own from the meek scared girl we first met to the powerful and confident woman she became.

Weather the Storm is a must read friends to lovers romance that I can't recommend more. The chemistry is off the freaking charts and the sexual tension is just simmering under the surface waiting to break free.

LK Farlow has done it again, but even better. I love her sweet and Weather the Storm adds a gritty layer we haven't seen yet. I was pleasantly surprised and the twists kept coming. My interest was peaked from the blurb, I fell for the cover, but it's the story inside that captured my heart. Mags and Simon are glorious. Extremely well done!

•••

Back to Dogwood we go for the final standalone in the Southern Roots series...

I’ve been waiting to read Magnolia’s story and LK Farlow did this tortured heroine serious justice. She’s shy and beyond timid, but the fire within her burns bright. I loved watching that tiny spark flicker and gain strength with each scene. Mags prefers to blend into the background but with the right encouragement, she flourishes. I couldn’t wait to meet the man who’d win her scarred heart.

LK Farlow created the perfect hero for the task in Simon McAllister. He’s a realistic and modern knight-in-shining-armor, swooping in to save the wounded damsel in distress. Gah, he’s dreamy and swoony and all southern charm. I especially enjoyed when his temper would flare and strike—only when needed to protect his lady. Simon made it easy to believe in a second chance for love and to never give up hope in a happy ending. *sigh*

Now, this journey has plenty of bumps and bruises, which only adds to the appeal. This author provides an outstanding blend of sweet romance with gritty truth. It’s horrible what some people are subjected to by others but this is a harsh reality. What Mags deals with in her past is terrible but this novel allows us to see her get plenty of good.

Page after page, I was swept deeper into this glorious southern tale. This is the type of book that makes my heart happy and always wanting more. I’m inspired and captivated by the amount of depth and raw beauty this talented author packed into Weather the Storm. She has the ability to make a romance reader out of anyone. I love LK’s whimsical style and unique descriptions. She makes it easy to picture the surroundings and truly feel part of the story. As a Minnesota native, I can never pull off y’all but darn, I really want to!

Thank you for giving us another fabulous read, LK!

Weather the Storm is my favorite of the Southern Roots books hands down. LK Farlow has upped her writing game with this sweet love story that is sprinkled with mystery and suspense. I loved the way Simon and Magnolia complimented each other with their affection, commitment, and patience with one another. The friendships between the group remain strong and seeing them find love is a joy.

Fans of small-town romances will love this sweet love story that makes you smile.

Marie’s Review

I’ve been waiting for Magnolia’s story. Being a southern girl I could relate to a lot of Weather the Storm and its southernisms. LK Farlow is a true southern gal and has brought that charm and warmth to this story.

Magnolia was the quiet one with a story that no one really knew. Simon fell hard for her and wanted to protect her. Their love story is enchanting and you are cheering for them from the start.

When Magnolia’s past comes back with a vengeance, Simon and all of the gang are there to love and protect her.

Full of sweet sass, swoony sexiness and heartfelt feels, Weather the Storm is a definite must read.

Jessica’s Review
I have loved everything about this series. The down home southern feel, the character interaction, the love that is being found..... it all makes me feel. Magnolia and Simon have this spark and I loved it. Simon was perfect for her and his protective streak was amazing. I laughed at the antics, I had tears with what Magnolia had to deal with in the past. There are people I loved in this book and then I wanted to curse some people from the book, but it’s one of those books that is better left read to the reader. It does deal with past abuse, but the author did a very good job at keeping it respectable to readers that may have suffered abuse. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Lk just upped her game, ladies. The queen of sweet, southern romance explored a darker side of love and completely blew me away. There were moments I literally felt my heart race with panic.

Simon is the perfect hero and exactly what poor Mags needs to come back from a very tragic past. He’s everything I love in a hero. Strong. Possessive. Compassionate. Viral.

Lk has a way of bringing her characters to life. Of bringing you right into their hearts and minds and allowing you to not only read, but experience their journey. This is one you don’t want to miss. Just brilliant.

I liked the hero.. he was a good man. Despised the abused he suffered in the hands of his father.
The heroine was just meh, I don't mind reading about an abused heroine as long as she's not weak, I don't mind a shy heroine either but she's has to be strong. This heroine wasn't strong. And how she stuttered. She spent the whole book doing it. It got to the point that i was just annoyed by it. She's also married not separated, not divorced, very much married.

Safety:No OW drama. They knew each other from the previous book. There's no mention if hero has been celibate while he gave her time. I would have love know if he was. No mention of his past sex life either. Heroine was married like I said and she was inexperienced because her husband was her only partner apart from the hero.

I am gonna start by saying I really wish I had read the first 2 books first, but I intend to go back and read them. This was my first time reading this author and she hooked me right away. Simon and Magnolia stole my heart from the very beginning. I was really blown away by this authors writing skills. You know an author has major talent when she can draw all the emotions out of you. There was times I felt like my heart would pound right out of my chest. There was times I was walking through my house reading and hoping I wouldn't bump into something. This book deserves more then the 5 stars! To say I loved this book would be a understatement. I recommend this book to everyone. Do yourself a favor and go get this book and read it!

ALL THE FEELS!!!

I love a good emotional story every now and again....okay, lets not kid ourselves...I'm all about the angst! After reading Coming Up Roses, I was intrigued by Magnolia and I couldn't help but wonder what she was hiding. After reading An Uphill Battle, that intrigue tripled! I needed this woman's story and I needed it now!

Weather The Storm is an emotionally conflicting story of one woman who's on the run from a horrible past filled with physical and emotional abuse, If spousal abuse is a trigger for you, definitely go into this novel with your eyes open.

L.K. Farlow blew me away with Magnolia and Simon's novel. My heart was in my throat several times throughout this story. I cried, I laughed, and I swooned over Simon.

Overall, because of the angst and emotional situations in this novel, I decided to not go into a full depth review given the fact that SPOILERS ARE EVIL. Just know this, I seriously...almost....cried! This novel is worth the 1-click! Congrats goes out to L.K. Farlow for...ALMOST...making me cry.

LK Farlow has written her best story yet! In Coming Up Roses, she made us fully adore and admire Cash and Myla Rose! In An Uphill Battle, she made us fight for love with Drake and Azalea, even when I wanted Drake to walk away most of the time and struggled with Azzy's back and forth. This time, when we see the usual cast of characters in Weather the Storm, we get a chance to follow Simon and Magnolia. This story is just, it's so well told. This story makes me so happy, and it's the best of the series so far! As always, the dialogue is on point, and Farlow shows growth! I can't wait to see what she does next!

Magnolia is a broken heart of a human and she's struggling her way through insecurities brought on by a past relationship. Simon, while dealing with his own past, steps in as protector and friend, which finds it's way into developing more feelings. I really enjoyed the connection that Simon built with Mags, helping to draw her out of her shell, and grow up a little more. I knew he was my favorite guy from the crew, but this book shows me WHY. I fell hard for him, and he's a true book boyfriend. The best I've seen in a while.

The thing I loved the most about this book was the characters. The hero is almost perfect. He was always trying to take care of the heroine and he understood as much as he could what she went through, so he acted accordingly. I loved how he was always trying to protect her and show her that she was precious and how much she was worth. He is a great character and I couldn't help but fall for him. The heroine struggled for most of the book because of her abusive ex. She is slowly becoming a stronger person who has stepped out of the shadow her abuser cast on her. She is protective of the others and she blossoms as time passes. You should read the book just because of them. The story is good and it has a nice pace. The main characters from the previous books appear and I liked them. If the series continues I will read the future books.

Yes! L.K. Farlow has given us another amazing story!

I really love the set of characters that the author has created. But Simon and Magnolia's story is probably my favorite. The writing is solid, the story doesn't falter and you just can't stop flipping pages until you're finished. Once again, there is a great storyline here, along with some angst, but there is real depth and passion. We see firsthand just how great of a guy Simon is. There's quite a bit of emotion as well dealing with Magnolia and the past she's had to endure. It's just one of those stories that sucks you in. Even if you haven't read the previous books, you're sure to want to go back and meet these characters to get the full effect of just how endearing they all are.

Great read with lots of heart and emotion. L.K. Farlow's writing has developed immensely throughout this series, and she's definitely an author you should check out.

This is my first time reading L.K. Farlow, and I am already a big fan! Weather the Storm is a heady blend of sweet, steamy and emotional with a dash of suspense. Readers' hearts will ache for Magnolia while simultaneously cheering for her. She’s escaped an abusive marriage and is getting back on her feet and finding her confidence again. Simon is swoony; he's a all around GOOD guy. He falls hard for Magnolia, and he’s perfectly patient with her as she heals from trauma. Farlow handles emotional and physical abuse with the appropriate seriousness while also delivering a compelling and beautiful romance.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This one was Simon and Magnolia’s story and goodness, it was worth the wait. We got little snippets of Magnolia in the previous books and when I found out that we were getting her story I was so excited. I could tell that she had been hurt but never that much.

My heart went out to Magnolia. Nobody deserves to go through what she went through. Sadly there are women all over the world that go through this. I myself even went through a relationship like this. It was verbal abuse instead of physical but abuse is abuse and even verbal can leave scars. Magnolia was brave to leave and attempt to start over. She ended up meeting Simon and he was great for her.

Simon was so caring and protective of Magnolia. When his protective side came out I was happy. It was exactly was Magnolia needed at the time. To feel safe and taken care of.

I loved them together! The relationship wasn’t rushed at all. I was waiting for the moment when they would take it farther and it was perfect when it happened. These two really made me smile!

This book had a bit of suspense regarding Magnolia’s ex. And I got swept away in it. Overall this is was a great addition to this series! I hope she writes about Seraphine next!

Such a poignant and emotive read.

Simon has been crushing on Magnolia since she came into his life. She is the sweetest thing: accident prone, anxious, vulnerable yet strong, so strong. She is unsure and uneasy around Simon despite being attracted to him. Her past experience has made her this way and Simon's challenge is to show her how she should be loved and respected by a man.

My heart went out to Magnolia as you understand why she is the way she is. I loved Simon and his gentleness and treatment of Magnolia, building her up, respecting her and loving her as she deserves to be loved.

This brought all the feels and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy from this heart warming story. *Sigh*

I could not put this book down, I have been wanting to know all about Magnolia since she was first introduced in the very first Southern Roots, she has always had her guard up and was like a skittish kitten . This author delivered, this is her third book and I think my favorite the writing and stories keep getting better and aww man the feels. I felt so hard for Magnolia when she finally opened up about her horrible abuse is endured by her husband. He is the absolute was scum on the earth and he wants his wife back and had the money to do it. Just when Magnolia starts to live again instead of cower she gets knocked back by her estranged husband.
Simon I just knew he was going knock my boots off, he is a true southern man and did everything just right. He waited and waited and was so patient and understanding and just being Mags saviour. The relationship is inevitable and I loved watching them grow together, they complement each other so well. I also am so glad that the other couples(from the previous books) are all so close( more like family) and are a major part in the story and lean and relay on one another. Their was a tough scene when Mags has to see her husband again it was devastating, but Goldilocks doesn't give up and Simon shows how he really is her Savior.
I am so ready for wherever this author takes me next.

I have been not so patiently waiting for Simon and Magnolia’s book and it didn’t disappoint me one bit! Simon and Magnolia have been tap dancing around each other but are thrown together in an unconventional way. Once this happens we have the makings of a beautiful relationship. I loved the slow burn and build up between the two characters. Simon was so swoony and protective which I loved! Magnolia is very shy and reserved and when I found out the reason why my heart broke for her in a million pieces. I loved how Simon was able to get Magnolia to come out of her shell and build her confidence back up after it was destroyed. Did I mention how swoony and protective he was?? I have read all the books in this series and this one was a tough read but I loved the way the crew all banded together when it came to Magnolia. I have been a fan of Farlow since “Coming Up Roses” and her writing has only gotten better and she has definitely matured as a writer. I loved this story and series and everytime I read I feel like I’m catching up with old friends. I never want this series to end and I can’t wait for the next book!

WOW! I loved Magnolia's & Simon's story! The writing was flawless and beautifully written! Magnolia's past made her gun shy at first with Simon & who could blame her! She was very slow to trust and understandably so. This was a great read, I highly recommend it!

LK Farlow has once again captivated my heart with her latest book in the Southern Roots series! Her sweet and lovable romance has just the perfect amount of angst that will have any book lover swooning in anticipation! Let's just say that her book keep getting better and better every time and are all some of my favorite books to date.

I am so sad that this is the final standalone in the Southern Root series because I have become seriously invested in these amazing one of a kind characters and I am just not ready to let them go yet...

Weather the Storm is Magnolia and Simon's story and I have to admit that they might just be my favorite couple yet (although of course I LOVE them all for different reasons)! Magnolia is a shy and timid soul that protects her heart, but throughout this story we see her begin to blossom and open up a little more. Now Simon...I've had a crush on his character since the very beginning and I couldn't think of anyone more perfect for Mags. His actions will have your heart swooning in overdrive with his southern charm. He is certainly a modern day gentleman that knows how to treat a women right.

This story was a beautifully written southern tale that captivated me wholeheartedly from beginning to end! LK Farlow has certainly delivered in this final Southern Roots story and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next!

"Welp, Weather the Storm is definitely my favorite of all 3 Southern Roots books. I loved every second of this book. Very well written, characters wee amazing, and the words flowed perfectly.

Simon was the quiet one in all the other books. This one, I fell in love with him. He took care of Magnolia right from the start. He never pushed her and loved her through all her broken pieces.

Magnolia. I wish I could just hug and love on her. She deserved the very best and I am so glad that Simon was it. They just clicked together.

I hope we get to read about Seraphine. I bet she is just a ball full of sass!

"This book was cute.
I mean, not all the situations that happened were cute, but the relationship between the characters, the whole southern situation. It was a sweet-cute.
I liked this book. Coming Up Roses is my favorite of the series, and this is the runner up. I loved Simon and Magnolia. I feel like these two deserved each other. Simon deserved a good woman to love him, and Magnolia deserved a good man that would treat her right and not be a complete waste of space.
The only problem I had with this book and a few times throughout the series, was that the author was trying a little too hard to make the reader believe the character was southern. Maybe it was just me? I don't know. Overall, though, I did like the book, and like the series. I'm anticipating Serephine's book!

I have been waiting for Simon's book since I read book one, Coming Up Roses. He was impossible for me to not fall for and the more I read of him in book two, the more I got excited for this one. I am so extremely happy that now I've gotten it, I've read it, and LK Farlow did not disappoint. I loved it.

Magnolia having a dark past has been hinted at since the beginning, but her true story was heartbreaking. I liked how all the parts of her new life in the present helped build her up and move forward. That journey made for a great read.

Finishing this story made me happy and anxious at the same time. I loved what I just read, but I'm not ready for the series to end. I hope there will be at least one more book where I can see one last character get their HEA.

Weather The Storm is book 3 in the Southern Roots series, Simon and Magnolia’s story.
Heartbreaking, but not in the way you’d think. Beautiful and sweet in the best way. My heart loves Simon and my heart is emotional for Magnolia. In this story you get see Magnolia for who she is and what she hides and you get to see the “Timmbberrr” fall, as well as to catch up on the main characters from books 1 and 2 and read what’s been going on with them since their stories.
I would also love to read a story on Seraphine, and to see what “that look” was all about.

4 1/2 out of 5 stars

This was the first book for me in this series and I can’t wait to go back and read the others. I know that Simon was an amazing book boyfriend, but I have a feeling Drake and Cash will be pretty amazing, too. Despite it being the third book in the series, I never felt lost or like I was missing anything not having more background. The crossover characters were there, but they weren’t distracting from the story of simon and Magnolia.

This book took me on an emotional roller coaster. From the very beginning, poor Magnolia has my heart in shreds. She’s obviously fighting herself and comes from a bad place. Siimon was the perfect “beast” from the beginning. He fights for what he sees as right and loves fiercely...before he even calls it love.

I loved that he was so protective and gave his whole heart to Magnolia without thought or concern about what it might mean to him. This book was well written and really made me think about those who come out of abusive relationships.

AMAZING!

Weather the Storm is the third installment in LK Farlow’s Southern Roots series. While I have adored every book so far I have to say, Weather the Storm is hands down my favorite!

This book is Simon and Magnolia’s story and it is absolutely amazing. Oh, my goodness, Simon is EVERYTHING! The way he cares for and protects Magnolia without smothering her is the sweetest thing. It was also amazing seeing Magnolia’s transition into a more open and less afraid woman. This book has suspense, mystery, and so much love. The love between all of these characters is tangible on every page. I so hope that Serephine gets her own book too!

LK Farlow has created a world that I do not want to leave. Every facet of this series has been well thought out and perfectly portrayed. If I could give more than five stars, I would.

Five healing stars! This book made my heart ache. Each word was a bittersweet symphony.

Oh. My. Stars! Weather the Storm by LK Farlow is a roll coaster of emotions. I'm drained and literally with a big knot in my throat! This book had too much to offer. It is thoughtfully written.

I shall confess that this is the first time I read a book of her and let me tell you something. It would've been nice if someone would've warned me that I was going to need a box of tissues because between the pages of this book is a heartbreaking story that made my heart ache.

The plot is original and the characters are complex and singular. The heroine has a broken soul. The hero is a fixer. Simon is just the right man to fix broken Magnolia. She endured a life of violence no woman deserves. She allowed a man who she loved to hurt her in the worst ways possible. Let me tell you something: A man who hit a woman deserves to be castrated. Simple as that!

Simon captured my heart. He saved Magnolia. He protected her as if he always meant to do it. He and Magnolia are good for eachother. No one and nothing can separate them. Not even devil itself.

The pace is fast and the story line is brilliantly developed. This book is an emotional masterpiece wrapped in a stunning cover. Each page was a torture for my soul. Each word was a bittersweet symphony. Each chapter made me crave a HEA!

LK Farlow gifted us a strong hero and a broken heroine. She pictured perfectly the fear and anxiety a hurt woman lives after leaving her own hell. Magnolia was weak. Simon showed her kindness and love. He put her broken pieces back together.  His soul complete hers.

I strongly recommend you this book. It is an intense journey of redemption, second chances, healing, trust, hope and love.

WOW! This was my first LK Farlow book, and I fell in love instantly with her talented writing style in Weather the Storm! It was that type of story that brought out all of my emotions in spades, so by the time I had devoured every last word, I was mentally exhausted, like it was my own situation, that's how far engaged I was with Magnolia's story. See, the life she had signed up for wasn't the nightmare that she got, and Magnolia had to run. And she ends up in the small Southern town of Dogwood, in the arms of Simon McAllister. Simon works to bring her out of her fearful shell, and just as things start to look up, Magnolia's past come back to haunt her. This story had it all! Angst for days because of Magnolia's reason for being in Dogwood, on edge of your seat suspense, sweet romance, slow burn, and laughter from an entertaining cast of southern secondaries. I loved Simon, whose big heart was amazing, and Magnolia, whose strength was inspiring. Yeah, I know at first she was closed off, but couldn't blame her for that. The ultimate factor that had me on the edge of my seat, with heart threatening to explode out of my chest, was that whole third POV factor sprinkled in, which had my f-bombs dropping throughout with those twists that I love in my stories. I'm super excited to read more of this author's work, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
