Not her. No way. Never again.
But I need a fake girlfriend…fast.

I am about to lose everything.
And I know just the person who can help.
The little liar that she is.

Lia Heart and I share a past.
Not just the dirty, sweaty, get tangled between-the-sheets kind.
Getting over her wasn’t easy.
But convincing her to help should be.
She owes me.

First I have to suck it up and pretend she didn’t rip my heart from my chest.
Easier said than done.
I can’t forgive or forget.
Then again, this is just business.
Nothing more.

Turns out my ‘girlfriend’ is as sweet and delicious as ever.
Temptation and chaos wrapped in a nice little package.
She’s my heaven and hell.

When resisting her proves impossible, I tell myself it’s only sex.
That a hate f-ck is just that.

Right?

I can’t possibly be falling.

Can I?

No way. Not for her. Never again.
Famous last words.

Ophelia and Julius.

They've been so in love three years ago - in front of cameras on the Bachelor TV show.

But after finding out that she was only there to write a story about him, Julius left.

Yes, she was sent there to write about him - but that was forgotten the second she met him and fell in love with him. She only needed the money to take care of her sick mom. But Julius wouldn't even listen to her explanations.

Now they're back in each other's lives.

And again it's because she is hired to write a story about him.

But this time he knows and they decide to pretend-date to make people think he's a nice 'about-to-be-married' prince.

But of course all those feelings are still there - on both sides - no matter how hard he tries to leave his heart out of it.

LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN...

Well, this was adorable & fun & sexy!

It's been such a long time since we've been on those royal islands - so I pretty much forgot EVERYTHING! But it was totally okay - this book didn't really have much to do with the other royals.

I really enjoyed reading this fourth book.

It was a really cute and fun and sexy second-chance royal love story.

Ophelia and Julius were great - and obviously still so in love!

And I loooved Queen grandma matchmaker! Adorable!

I think we really need such a fictional royal show on Netflix. With lots of romance and suspense and excitement and royal swooning! ☺

The thing I still don't like about these books. The cover guys. This one is the best one so far! But the others ... the guys might be hot in normal life - but the photographer must've been drunk when he gave the instructions to pose - especially with the guy from book #2 - he was the worst!!! That finger-to-mouth pose??? Cheap-porny and ridiculous. And the other two covers are not much better with all that hair product and the cheap porn look in their eyes. Sorry - no offense intended - that's just my opinion - but really... do you like those covers? Look at book 2 please and tell me how that's sexy?!!!! ☺

THE PRETEND PRINCE was an adorable & fun & sexy second-chance Royal Romance!!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Julius - this one is MINE!!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm drawn for royal romance and I really try to love this one. Unfortunately I couldn't connect with Julius. It was an ok story for me. It was entertaining, with a good writing and a great message about forgiveness and second chances.

It is always a good day when a new Kim Karr story turns up on your kindle.

It has been ages since I have delved into the world of the royal families of the Vespa Isles, so I have completely forgotten most of everything that has happened - though I did remember the gambling storyline that has followed through all the stories so far.

Julius and Lia's story is flirty and sexy - but with some anger and hurt and fighting thrown in. This is to be expected with a second chance romance - I mean, they broke up for a reason, right. And - fighting is foreplay, right? Angry sex is just grrrr hot!

I adore our lovelies trying to fight what the reader can see - that they are meant to be, no matter what.

I liked the storyline of how they came to be together. And I LOVE Julius' grandma - the Queen - playing Cupid.

Cute and enjoyable read. I hope we get more!

THE PRETEND PRINCE is the fourth and final instalment in Kim Karr’s contemporary, adult THE UNKNOWN ROYALS erotic, romance series. This is the Prince of Wimberly, Prince Julius Monaco, and reporter Ophelia Heart. THE PRETEND PRINCE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Julius and Ophelia) THE PRETEND PRINCE follows the rebuilding relationship between Prince Julius Monaco, and journalist Ophelia Heart. Three years earlier Ophelia destroyed Julius’ heart with lies and deceit. Betrayed and battered, Julius would walk away from the woman he loved only to come face to face three years later when our heroine is tasked with an assignment she doesn’t want to do-an expose on the royal family but more specifically on the would-be heir. Julius is well aware that Ophelia’s assignment is meant to uncover the ugly truth about our story line hero, an assignment Ophelia believes will forever destroy any hopes of a second chance. What ensues is the acrimonious but rebuilding relationship between Ophelia and Julius, and the potential fall-out as sins from the past continue to control the present.

Ophelia Heart knows she betrayed Prince Julius Monaco, a betrayal that came with heart break, and the emotional fall-out of guilt and shame. Believing Julius is only agreeing to the interview to enact his revenge, Ophelia goes along with Julius’ plans, plans that will, once again, break her heart.

The relationship between Julius and Ophelia is one of second chances. Our couple first met on the reality show The Bachelor ™ but Ophelia’s appearance was orchestrated behind the scenes by a powerful royal. When the truth is revealed Julius is destroyed, and Ophelia runs with her proverbial ‘tail’ tucked between her legs. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, often anger filled and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Ophelia’s boss and editor Raquel Livingston; Julius’s father Prince Vittore Monaco, and Queen Helena.

THE PRETEND PRINCE is a story of betrayal, secrets and lies; family, relationships and love. The premise is captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are colorful, broken, angry and energetic.

3 stars. This book was an okay read for me. The Pretend Prince is Lia and Julius's story. Three years ago, Lia went undercover as a journalist on The Bachelor, where she met Prince Julius. She developed real feelings for him and eventually refused to do her assignment. She and Julius fell in love and he chose her as his final pick, but he found out about her original reason for being on the show and dumped her. Now, Lia is still struggling to be a journalist and her boss, who has a family vendetta against him, wants her to write an expose on Julius and the royal family, by getting close to him. But she doesn't want to hurt him again so she goes to him to let him know. Julius hates Lia for what she did to him in the past and is very rude and punishing to her. But they come to an agreement that she will pretend to be doing her assignment and they will pretend to be dating to the press. As they spend time together again, they discover they have unresolved feelings that they must work out between them.

This book is an enemies to lovers story, which doesn't always work for me and I didn't realize before I started the book. Julius was a big jerk to Lia, which made it hard for me to like him. Lia felt bad for her past and that she hurt Julius, so she martyred herself and took his poor treatment willingly. I didn't really understand why she liked him so much and wanted him back. As this is a second chance love story, I think I missed out by not seeing the couple fall in love in the first place. Also, during their separation, Lia was celibate, but Julius immediately jumped into a serious relationship that lasted until the present. He was still being hateful to her up until the end, when they finally decided to be together. I just had a hard time feeling the love between them and then the book ends at 88%. Overall, I was a little bit disappointed in this book because I have enjoyed all of the other books in this series a lot. Still, I did like the story overall and the writing is good. I enjoyed the book in general. I still love the world building in this series and I liked Lia's character. The book is an easy, entertaining read, even if it wasn't my favorite in the series. I look forward to more from Ms. Karr in the future!

~ 4 Pretty Girl Stars ~

The Pretend Prince is the last installment in Kim Karr’s Unknown Royals series. This one was an enjoyable read, just like the books before it. Although I have to be honest, this wasn’t my favorite of the series.

Julius isn’t my favorite Royal Hero of the group. I had a hard time warming up to him. I also had a hard time believing his feelings of love towards the end, because they seemed to just hit him….Like That!!! kind of unrealistic, in my opinion.

Now with that said, that was my only negative for this book. I really enjoyed the storyline and I liked Ophelia (heroine)

This is a standalone novel within this series. You don’t have to read any of the other books prior to reading this one, but I think if you read this book, you will want to go back and read all the books in this series. This story is told in Dual POV and I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. I enjoyed the flashbacks to Ophelia and Julius’s past together.

The Pretend Prince is an enemies to lovers story, built around the idea of The Bachelor show. This book had everything you expect to read in a romance novel. There was steam, swoony moments, and just enough drama. This is an easy and lighthearted read that would be perfect for a lazy sunday or a day at the beach.

This story follows Prince Julius Monaco and Ophelia. These two have a past history. 3 years ago Julius was the Bachelor on the t.v. show and he fell for Ophelia. Both thought this was the prefect match until secrets were revealed and their love unraveled. Now 3 years later Ophelia has been given a story on Prince Julius again. Their reunion is not a happy one. Can Ophelia get Julius to open up to her again?? Can this be their second chance at happiness?? Read this book to find out.

If you like Royal romances, second chance love stories, or an enemies to lovers story, then this is a book you should read. I think this story will be loved by many. It has just a little of everything to keep the readers happy.

Don’t miss Kim Karr’s latest novel……The Pretend Prince!!!

He is just a Prince, She is just a girl, and they both found each other and fell head over heels in Love, on The Bachelor Show. But all didn’t end well, it ended with Julius left heartbroken, feeling played and betrayed. Ophelia left crushed, heartbroken and knowing it was all her fault.

Now three years later there is a way she can redeem herself and prove to him her love was true and at the same time help him with a tricky situation.....

I have loved this Series, but i think Julius and Ophelia’s story is my favourite!!
These characters had my heart at hello! Both so disenchanted by love yet still so obviously in love my heart hurt for them from the word go.
Julius was every girls dream, hot, handsome, sexy, and all the nice kinds of Dirty!
you will definitely need a fan handy with these two, tissues handy and ready for laughter at anytime. A grandmother that shows just how wise she is in the matters of Love! At times i wanted Julius to just forgive her, but I also understood the reasons behind Julius’s behaviour. I had doubts that Lia would maybe give up. I can honestly say that at times i was so invested that my kindle was almost being crushed in my hands i was so anxious!
This author never makes the journey to an Hea easy, and always has you on tinder hooks for what is going to come next. I’m hugely jealous of Lia though because trust me, this is really ome Prince you will want to keep for yourself.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Ophelia and Julius met on a reality show. He was the playboy Prince whom everyone thought had found love and Lia was going to be his princess. Until the last episode of the show was canceled and no one was talking about why.
Fast forward three years and Lia runs into Julius and the pain and anger he feels are written all over his face and in his posture. All Lia wants to do is get the chance to explain what happened. But he doesn't want to hear it, he just wants to get as far away from her as he can get.
When her job and his grandmother, the queen, throw them together, he has to listen. He learns the truth but that she didn't actually follow through with the plan.
Now they have a chance at a happily ever after, can Julius forgive the past? Will they be able to make a relationship work for a future together? Will the queen continue to push them together?
I really liked this story and can't wait for more. I did at times want to slap Julius and tell him to listen to Ophelia for just a minute. But it is won't make this story all that it is, a prince has to learn to trust to find his princess. I love Kim Karr and I hope you love this story too.

Ophelia finds it hard to read her man at times, “Yes, that’s fine. I showered before you picked me up, so I’ll just change.” He gives me a look, and I can’t figure out if he wanted me to join him... " Julius has his tender moments, "...he grabs my hand, kisses it, and then ducks down to whisper, “You really do look beautiful.” I liked this book, I liked Julius.

Former bad boy, Prince Julius Monaco of Wimberly found love in an unconditional way...on The Bachelor television show in America. But although he fell for her, once her true story came out, he did not want to hear any explanations. Three years later, he is still angry, bitter, and feels betrayed. He is a man on a mission to complete a deal for his grandfather's shipping company before he needs to start taking over more royal duties. He needs to keep his reputation clean and not have any surprises. But like most wealthy or powerful men, he has enemies.

Royal blogger and now reporter, Ophelia Heart did have an agenda when she went on the show, but then really did fall in love. She was not going to follow through with it, but was outed before she could come clean. She has spent three years living with guilt and regret. She has responsibilities, and her new job is important to her. But now she is being asked to do something she does not want to do and it involves a blast from her past.

Now that these two are back in each other's proximity, accusations and sparks are flying, deals are being made, things are being avoided, and it's a rocky reconnection. But they do find a common goal. She just wants to help him now and atone for her sins. And he needs her to keep a monkey off his back. So pretending things are different might be the only way. But their chemistry is volatile and there are a lot of unresolved feelings, so things might get a bit more complicated......and frustrating...and tempting...and a bit out of control.

Can Ophelia find a way to help Julius accomplish his goal and redeem herself in his eyes? And can they find a way to trust and believe in their feelings again? Will their past or present shenanigans cause a royal ruckus?

This was a fun, sexy, and swoony, second-chance, lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers royal romance. I liked Lia's sassy attitude, sweetness, and strength despite all she went through. And even though Julius could be venomous and challenging, I could tell it was to mask his hurt. So I was rooting for them to move past their chemistry and remember why they fell in love in the first place. For him to find forgiveness and for Lia to get the peace of knowing that she tried her best to make it right. And I totally loved the Queen. She was the perfect all-knowing somewhat manipulative sidekick but her heart was in the right place.

“The question is, will there be a winner or just two losers by the time we get to the end?”

Ophelia is trying to reinvent herself and start a new life, but the past that she prefers to forget will hit her again in full force. Three years ago, she accepted a proposal and ended up being one of the participants in a reality show. In disguise, this journalist should compete with other women and win the bachelor's heart. But winning Prince Julius' heart was easy. The difficult was to maintain the farce and to get around the situation. When the truth comes out, he will hate her for the rest of his life.
Julius, the Prince of Wimberly has several problems to deal with. The press insists on following in his footsteps and calling him a playboy, while pressing him to settle down and produce an heir. His grandfather left a problem in the form of a company and a vengeful ex-wife. And seeing the woman he vowed to hate in an elevator, after so many years, will cause yet another problem. One that he may not be able to handle.
Ophelia is between a rock and a hard place. Her new dream job is actually a nightmare. Her boss hired her with ulterior motives and her new task, of exposing the prince, seems very much like a déjà vu.
By joining forces, Ophelia seeks to try to redeem herself. But Julius just wants to get even. An explosive relationship, which will show that the feelings of the past still exist, as much as he wants to deny it.
With a creative narrative and a different plot, the book has a lighter tone, choosing to show the reunion of these two and the forced approach to fight a common enemy. But the antics of a grandmother who knows more than she should, can make Julius finally realize that as much as he tries to escape, his fate has already been traced on a television show.
With references to The Bachelor, a final rose ceremony has never been more tense. Or so complicated. It took a long time for these two to get along. Julius refused to hear her side of the story. And Ophelia was wrong not to speak the truth right away.
A book to relax, pining for a prince and cheer for the girl at the end.

Once upon a time…
There was a bachelor prince who went on a reality show just for fun but ended up falling in love-
Then the wheels fell off his bus!!

There once was an aspiring journalist who went on the same reality show- but she’d been hired to do a job. She refused in the end, and found her prince Charming. But, the wheels on her bus broke too.

Secrets were outed, lives were destroyed and hearts torn asunder.

Julius Monaco was that Prince, now, three years later he’s on the verge of making his grandfather’s business into the legacy the old man always dreamed of. But, one thing stands in his way.
His grandfather’s second ex-wife.

Ophelia Heart has just started a new job and has been given an assignment, one she knows she can’t do.
Julius needs a plan to pull the wool over the evil woman’s eyes and there’s only one girl fit for the job.

They were only supposed to pretend on the show, but it became real. Now, where it should be real, it’s all pretend… or is it.
All it takes is one kiss and they’re both falling again.
Julius fights it, he doesn’t trust anyone anymore, least of all, Lia. But, she’s kept a piece of his heart and he can’t escape his feelings.
Julius is the epitome of royalty. Sexy, gorgeous and arrogant when he wants to be. He’s also charming and has a serious kind side. He’ll do just about anything for his grandmother, Queen Helena of Wimberly.

I loved this story, the characters were well written and full of life. The story carried itself and wasn’t too far in the ‘fantastical’ side, even if it was a pretend land. Grab your copy and enjoy.

I'm just going to start out by saying that there's not any world which I wouldn't LOVE everything that Kim Karr puts out, and it's seemed like FOREVER since the last book to be honest. Her brilliance at penning stories that I'm instantly immersed in from the jump, is the reason why she's one of my very favorite of all time. Julius & Ophelia (aka Lia) met on a bachelor show, and even fell in love there to boot, but she was sent there to write a story about him, and he got wind of it, so he left the show believing that she was a liar. He didn't even consider stopping to see if there was more to the story, and there actually was. Now, he needs a fake girlfriend, and again, Lia is there to write a story on him, so he decides she'll do, and they make a bargain. What could possibly go wrong?! I seriously laughed as I was typing that line, because see Julius is a Prince so yeah, complications are all over the place. With his match making Queen, aka Grandmother, there were a lot of entertaining interactions throughout. Did Julius make me mad more than once?! Absolutely & I bet he could make y'all mad too! Did I ever forgive him?! Did they rekindle all of those feelings from the past?! You'll have to hit that one click button to find out, so please do it IMMEDIATELY, as you can't go wrong with Kim Karr! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

The Pretend Prince by Kim Karr
3 stars
M/F Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Julius is a prince and he wanted to find love. He thought that he had found his princess in Ophelia. While the reality tv show was what you would expect, it was abruptly canceled.

Years later, Lia runs in to Julius again. This time, for a different reason, but he's unhappy to see her, just the same. Lia is trying to make amends, but with Julius constantly angry and harsh with her, it's a wonder she takes as much as she does.

Julius was immature and annoying for me. He never wanted to listen to anyone and when he did listen, he did it with only one ear.

While this could have been amazingly charming, I just didn't really like how the relationship unfolded. It had an incredibly YA feeling to it. And, while it takes a village to learn who you can trust, in this story, it was just too drawn out.

GUYSSS. Kim brought again with her royals. I love this series. I love that we get to see familiar faces but that each story completely is its own. This one was SO FUN.

This is like watching the followup episode to The Bachelor. The royal edition. It was angst filled and had two souls that were completely meant for each other but both fighting their own past decisions.
I was rooting for these two. I love tortured reads and the guys were certainly that. This is an epic second chance romance but also a fake relationship read. I know IT IS PERFECT. I read it in one sitting and loved all of it. The premise was a bit predictable but in the end you wont care because it is exactly what you need. I am calling is a sexy royal hallmark movie. Perfection.

A reality show brought them Lia and Julius together the first time, but Lia had a reason for being there other than falling in love with a Prince. She was sent to uncover a story on the famous Prince but by the time the truth was exposed they had fallen in love with each other and all they had to show for their efforts was broken hearts.

Lia has learnt from the mistakes of her past so when she is once again assigned to expose the secrets of the sexy Prince. She decides honesty is the best policy and before she knows what happened she finds herself in a fake relationship to try and make up for the mistakes of her past. What could possibly go wrong?

The feelings that Lia and Julius had for each other didn’t die but have been laying dormant until they see each other again. The biggest challenge they face is to forgive each other and themselves for the mistakes of the past so that they can have their second chance.

Kim Karr has a way of delivering fun, flirty, steamy, and humorous books that are delightful books and The Pretend Prince is a second chance romance that will have you rooting for Julius and Ophelia and for the regular girl to get the prince. Now years later, these two are back in each others lives for necessity purposes and giving her a chance for redemption to help him out. And thus the story unfolds! Can these two get back to the way things were?

All in all, this was a good book that was super steamy and fun and definitely worth the read. I give it 4 outta 5 stars and always enjoy reading the author and can't wait for the next one!

PS: Thank you to Kim Karr and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

Julius and Ophelia story was sexy and sad.

#1 My understanding of Julius feeling betrayed was bone crushing. The way he took everything but trying to save his family and ultimately his grandmother from bad press was sweet.

#2 Lia wanting to make amends when in reality she was so blind to all things in front of her except for Julius.

#3 Helena proving age is nothing but a number and the she knows more than what everyone thinks.

#4 Kim rocked another royal story that had me reading while I was supposed to be working.

I am so addicted to this series as each story is related but the trials to get to the HEA are sexy, fun, and devious.

Julius has been someone mentioned in the background of all the other books in this series, so I was really excited to finally get the full story of the failed romance that has been alluded to throughout.

While I would have loved to have had more chapters from their season of The Bachelor, I really enjoyed the setup of this second chance story. I really felt the love between these two, even though I didn't really know their full past. They had such palpable chemistry from the get-go that you couldn't deny their love.

It was just a really sweet second chance romance and a great way to wrap up this series.

The Pretend Prince is a 2nd chance love story, having read Kim Karr’s work previously I dived straight into Ophelia & Julius.

Julius put his heart on the line when he was on reality TV, falling in love so quickly he was done with everyone else. When everything he thought was true fell apart in front of him he licked his wounds and on he went. 3 Years later Ophelia is straight back in the lions den with the one that stole her heart. Pretending to be his boyfriend might not be the best plan she has ever had but when old feelings start to bloom can they survive this time?

I personally enjoyed this story, there were ups and downs that lead you on the long journey that had both characters evolving by the end.

I look forward to more from Karr in the future.

I have not read any other stories related to this and I didn't really feel lost or anything.
I have never been a fan of reality TV, but this blurb had me reeled in.
Ophelia and Julius met on a reality TV show that never saw it's ending. It was cut off with out the rose given and viewers everywhere were at a loss.
Julius wants nothing to do with Lia, but he may be able to use her and spit her out like she did him years before. Lia is just trying to do her job and take care of her mother. She still loves Julius and may never stop and she'll do anything to prove that to him and earn his forgiveness.

This couple had great chemistry from the go and Julius was just enough of a prick that you still loved him because you understood where it came from. Lia was cute and driven. All in all. I really liked it. I flew through it dying to see how it all played out and I wasn't disappointed!

"It’s going to be a good day when you can read a new story from Kim Karr, and The Pretend Prince is another hit!
I love Royal family stories, it’s kind of fun to see how the other half lives, Ophelia and Julius, and a second chance, you don’t want to miss this one.
A funny, sexy, and flirty romance, a second chance between the Prince and you average young lady, but the twist to this one is they meet on a bachelor show. However as in most of these types of meets, it didn’t end well or last. These characters are amazing, they have wonderful banter and the sexy time, yikes!!!
A quick fun read with a Royal twist

I’m slightly obsessed with reality TV so this book called to me lol. I loved the whole Bachelor twist to it, Julius and Ophelia genuinely did fall for each other but when everything that was hidden came to light he felt betrayed and did what he felt he had to now fast forward a few years later he’s in a jam that Ophelia could help him with. This story was adorable, funny and I loved the back and forth banter between these two

A second chance romance where both characters will grab onto your heart? Yes, please! The Pretend Prince is just that, the story of Julius and Ophelia who met and fell in love on The Bachelor Show. Needless to say, things didn’t end very well and three years later the two are back in each other lives. Full of emotion, this story will have you laughing one moment and tearing up the next. Julius and Ophelia’s journey to a HEA isn’t an easy one but it sure as hell is a good one! A must-read book!

I just love this series and I think this one was my favorite. I love second chance at love stories and this one had it all. You feel every emotion under the sun and then some. Ophelia and Julius were just perfectly matched and the chemistry between them you could feel coming through the pages. i hope there is more to this series.

The Pretend Prince was a good mixed bag reading experience with steam that left me frustrated with Julius and Ophelia at times. They finally got their hea and I'm sure there will be more from this series.

It’s going to be a good day when you can read a new story from Kim Karr, and The Pretend Prince is another hit!
