Bad boy quarterback Tyler Harris plays ball for a living and breaks hearts for a hobby.

With two championships in as many years, Tyler is the best quarterback in the league. Gorgeous and rich, he's at the top of his game. Women love him. Men want to be him. Only Tyler's not feeling the love. In fact, he's not feeling anything at all. Licking his wounds after a scandal and a breakup with his long-time girlfriend, he retreats to a run-down mansion on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest. Once there, Tyler is blindsided by the sassy redhead next door. He knows that he's met his match and possibly his soulmate. There's one problem. She despises him.

Lavender Mead has a good reason to dislike jocks, namely an absentee father who deserted the family to coach college football. Maybe that explains her penchant for bad boys -- especially those who play ball. Her new neighbor seems just that type. Yet Tyler's not the shallow superstar she expected, and she's inexplicably drawn to football's bad boy. The two are so hot together, they're combustible.

As the clock ticks down, can they commit to each other forever? Or will they both fall short of the goal at the last minute?

Snap Decision: The Originals was the first book in the Seattle Steelheads series by Jami Davenport. It was originally written as Forward Passes as part of the Seattle Lumberjacks series. Davenport has now changed the name, rewritten the storyline - but keeping the same premise - and published it as Snap Decision.

I read (and enjoyed) the original and was looking forward to seeing the improvements. But frankly, I have read hundreds of books since then - and I didn’t write a review so truthfully, I didn’t know if there were any differences. What I did conclude was that I still enjoyed it.

Tyler Harris was an NFL quarterback. He had just won his second super bowl but he was struggling with life ever since his friend, Ryan, a child who had cancer, had died. He didn’t find joy in football or anything for that matter and he was on a downward spiral. His uncle, Art, who was estranged from the family, had just died and left Tyler the San Juan island estate that had been in the family for generations. As long as Tyler stayed on the island for 90 consecutive days, it was his. For Tyler, it was a prison sentence.

Lavender Mead was the eccentric snarky neighbor who wanted Tyler to fail. She was close to Tyler’s uncle and had plans for the estate that involved the Veterans group where Art had spent his days. She hated Tyler on sight for his conceited, entitled and egotistical demeanor. He may have been gorgeous but she hated his attitude and it reminded her of her estranged father.

Davenport took us through the snarky antics between the two. They were wildly attracted but fiercely disliked the other. They were oil and water. Simultaneously, Davenport painted the individual pictures of their pasts, which defined each one. They each had tons of baggage. I enjoyed walking through that baggage for both; however, there was one family aspect that I didn’t see eye to eye with Lavender on - no spoilers, so no elaboration, but her initial perspective went against who I found her to be in all other areas of her life. However, i did still enjoy the entire storyline.

In the end, it was a well written and quick read filled with substance, depth and complexity. I look forward to seeing more of Davenport’s originals added to the existing series.

Snap Decision is an enemies to lovers story that hooked me from start to finish and I really enjoyed it.

Tyler is a football player who doesn't feel his game anymore,Lavender is a sassy woman with a deep loathing for jocks.
When they meet on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest they seem lost, both of them fearing the future but the chemistry between them is off the charts.Between an energetic sex escapade and a good bantering we see them growing up as individuals and as a couple.

I don't have read every book in the series but I recommend this author to all the sports romance fans, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent sports romance.
When Tyler’s looses his game, he has to regroup and discover what will give him his passion back. Whilst doing that he also looses his fiancée, maybe it’s time to follow a new path and see if he has a new destiny.
Who will that be with, will it still be In Football ?
Great book from a wonderful author.

Will the pain of her past keep her from having a happy future? Will one mistake deter the football star from risking his heart on forever? Snap Decision is a fresh start for two wounded souls. Tyler follows the rules on the field, but has his own maneuvers outside the arena. When a hint of scandal tarnishes his heart, he seeks some solitude to lick his wounds. What he gets is a smart mouth, firecracker with her own baggage to sort through. Lavendar has no time for the big ego and bright lights of Tyler's star. With her own emotions weighing her down, she can't possibly take on anyone else's. That is until Mr. Big Ego teaches her a few lessons in life, love and happy endings. Davenport scores high marks with her wise words and captivating characters.

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.blog,
Snap Decision is another winner from Jami Davenport. This time our hero is Star Quarterback with the Seattle Steelheads, who has reached a turning point in his life. Tyler Harris who hides behind his BAD BOY persona where he doesn’t care about anyone but himself.
When he is left his family’s run-down mansion on Madrona Island, under the condition he must spend 90 nights on the Island. This is where he meets Lavender and all the old vets who were his uncle’s friends.
This is a fun romance for the most part, especially the orange cat and the brotherhood to keep him occupied. Tyler and Lavender spent their time insulting each other, the worse the insult the hotter they were together. This is Jami at her best, it kept me entertained, and this was I have to finish book once I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down. It never hurts when you have a handsome well- built Quarterback to think about. This is a thoroughly enjoyable read, I spent half the night reading. Tyler and Lavender are hilarious together, as long as they hate each everything will be okay.Unfortunately for them this bad boy had plenty of heart.

What happens when an someone you care about dies and you are unexpectedly thrown for a loop? You make a new enemy. That's what happens in this book. Lavender has lived next door to Artie Harris for the past 6 years. They were close friends/family to each other. When he dies his great nephew inherits the house that she hoped to get and turn into a Veterans B&B. This turn of events really sour Lavender's view of the guy, not to mention that he's a football jock and she swore to stay away from that kind of guy. Tyler is currently lost in life. He's just won his second super bowl and he should be at the top of his world. Unfortunately he just can't find the love for life that he used to have. These two are just what each other needs, whether they know it or not. I really enjoyed this book but I have to admit that Lavender's willingness to be so naive really outdid me. She just didn't want to see the truths in front of her. She wanted Tyler to be the better person that she knew he could be, but she wasn't willing to see that for herself. That is probably the main reason I gave this book 4 stars. Lavender was great, she just wasn't the strong willed woman that she tried to show the rest of the world and it took the whole book for her to come out of the shell. I really loved Tyler. I loved how he made an effort to be the better person, especially with his trying to not say the "f" word. His rival with Zach Murphy was fun to read, though I have to admit that I'm not a fan of Murphy and his attitude. Yeah, I got why he initially treated Tyler that way, and I understood his need for a ring, but he couldn't even change his attitude for the end of the story. Tyler's right about that boulder. I'm glad I got to meet this wonderful couple and I'm glad they found each other. I'm also glad that Lavender FINALLY heard both sides of the story (I can't stand when people only listen to one side and base their decision from that). This was my first Jame Davenport book and I'm looking forward to reading more by her in the future. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

4.5 star Review Snap Decision (Seattle Steelheads) by Jami Davenport

When Tyler’s great uncle unexpectedly leaves him an inheritance, he has no idea how it will change his life. However since his life has been in turmoil recently, Tyler decides to stay and fight for his inheritance, after all it gives him a chance to stay out of the limelight and hopefully out of trouble.
However the chemistry between Tyler and Lavender is off the charts and although they both say that they have a healthy dislike for one another, they are soon tearing up the sheets.
Both Tyler and Lavender frustrated me at times and I wanted to bump their heads together to knock some sense into them. However their push and pull relationship certainly made for some entertaining reading and I enjoyed their banter and bickering.
I love that Ms.Davenport’s characters are not perfect, they are flawed and the situations they find themselves in are easy to relate too, her characters are strong and her stories well written.

Will Lavender Mead be able to get over her past and take a chance on bad boy quarterback Tyler Harris ? One click and find out….

Star quarterback Tyler Harris has it all, money, fame, women, two championships, but Tyler isn’t feeling it at all any more. A scandal has put paid to any happy feelings and with the breakup from his long time girlfriend he retreats to a remote island in the northwest to reflect on his life. Where he meets Lavender, his sassy neighbour.
Lavender Mead should dislikes jocks, being deserted by a father who would rather coach football can do that. Yet she always seems to go for the bad boys and ball players are top of the list. Tyler is arrogant, cocky but oh so sexy. And she wants to ask for his help. What will the famous superstar say?
The off the charts chemistry is amazing as they first bicker and snarl. But they soon realize there’s much more between them and a relationship blossoms. A highly entertaining story, loved Tyler and Lavender.

Jami captures the characters heart and soul in this heartfelt story about life, making the readers feel as if they are also with them in their journey about life’s challenges.
The chemistry between Tyler and Lavender sizzles off the page with their love hate relationship, you can feel how strong the connection they have with each other and how this connection makes them feel complete.
A must read, Jami gives some wise words about life and dealing with many different struggles that we can face and being true to yourself makes you feel whole.

not her best

I love this author and her books but for some reason I struggled to like either character. The previous book had been so good and yet I found Lavender to be just bland and fixated as a character and was more like a petulant teenager. Tyler improved but again acted more like a hormonally challenged teenager. Good storyline but disappointing.

I give Snap Decision 5 stars. These characters went through what many people do and you can’t help but feel everything right along with them. This story is very believable and their chemistry was so so hot. Both had misconceived notions of what life was about, what is expected of them, but in the end, they learned by their mistakes.

Jami Davenport is a fabulous author and I’ve been following her for some time now. Her strength is blending sports and romance, and making it not only believable but incorporating life events or rather life issues into the mix. In this one, again she has blended all that and more. Well done Jami!

Tyler Harris is a bad boy. He is a quarterback with two championships under his belt. He’s gorgeous, rich, women love him, and men want to be him. Tyler, however, is not feeling good about it all. In fact, he's not feeling anything at all. After a series of misfortunes, he retreats to a run-down mansion on a remote island. Can he figure out what his next move should be?

Lavender Mead dislikes jocks, especially her absentee father who deserted the family to coach college football. Her new neighbour is everything she hates in a man, but hot as sin. No matter how hard she tries to resist, she is drawn to this bad boy. Once she gives in to her desires, the two are so hot together, they're combustible. Will she be able to keep this as a sex only relationship?

Once Tyler moved into the mansion he was blindsided by the sassy redhead next door. He soon knows that he's met his match and possibly his soul mate in Lavender, but she doesn’t feel the same way. Or does she?

Snap Decision is a contemporary romance novel about finding your way, even when others are conspiring against you. These characters mature and learn through the telling of this story and it is wonderful to see it happen. This is a great story about learning from your mistakes, and becoming stronger from it.

Once you start reading it you won’t be able to put it down.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**

Tyler Harris should be loving where he is in life seeing that he is a star football player coming off his second Super Bowl win, he's got money, health and all the women he could want, yet he feels completely empty and he can't quite figure out why. Now facing a scandal and the break-up of his long-term relationship, he heads to an island in the Pacific Northwest to escape all that's going on in his life. What he didn't expect to find there was a neighbor who absolutely can't stand him, yet she intrigues him to no end.

Lavender Mead has disliked athletes for years. That hatred stems from the fact her father chose his coaching profession over his family many years ago. She's been hurt by a man who chose sports over her once and she isn't willing to go through that again. When Tyler ends up moving in next door, Lavender knows she's going to have to deal with him, but all she's willing to do is tolerate him. But will that really work when he's beyond gorgeous and sexy as all get out?

Even though Tyler and Lavender contend they don't like one another, their chemistry is off the charts and the sex is beyond steamy. Even though they claim that a relationship isn't in the cards between them, will they be able to deny what is growing between them? These two people who are dealing with hurt and heartache from their pasts may be just what one another needs, but the question is will they get out of their own way and embrace that?

Kudos to Jami Davenport for penning a very robust story with great characters. There were times I wanted to strangle them both, but overall I felt this was a very true to life type of story that I could really see happening. Sometimes the people that come into your life are not who you are looking for, but they are exactly who and what you need.

Quarterback Tyler Harris is a master on the field, and off the field too if you ask his former flings! The ladies love him, and of course every man in America would love to have his life. But these days this football master isn't feeling so masterful, he's lived the life of luxury, taken full advantage of what it offers him, but he still feels like he is missing something.

After taking home his second Superbowl trophy he should be on cloud nine, but he's just not feeling it, so he decides it's time to step away from the limelight for a while and get things right. Not to mention the high profile break-up he's currently going through seems to be stirring up all kinds of other unnecessary noise. So, he heads to the Pacific Northwest for a little quiet time... but he soon learns his trip to the island is going to be anything but, when he meets his feisty and outspoken new neighbor Lavender!

Between the pages of Snap Decision you will find a heartfelt tale that will bring you joy, swoons, smiles, and maybe even a few tears too. This beautifully crafted story line drew me in from the first page, and had me addicted by the second, once I met these two I just didn't want to let them go. It was an evenly balanced romance story, offering up a plethora of emotions that zeroed in on my heart and left it overloaded with feeling, and emitted a constant seductive tone that kept my knees wavering! If you are a sports romance lover like me, then this one will speak volumes to you, it will score serious points on all fronts!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

4.5 Stars for Snap Decision
Tyler Harris has it all a great job that he loves, women fall all over him and every man in America is envious of him because he is the best Quarterback in the league but something is missing in his life it doesn’t matter how many women he meets he can’t find the one that sets his heart racing ....well that is until meets Lavender Mead problem is she isn’t falling for his charms.
Lavender Mead has a dislike for anything close to a jock, her father was one and he deserted the family to coach football so Tyler who happens to be her new neighbor is the last man she wants anything to do with but he isn’t the shallow superstar she expected but can he convince her to give him a chance......
This book is about a couple that aren’t broken but they both need some tender loving care could they find it with each other well I guess you need to read the book to find that out. Tyler may be cocky and arrogant but he is not as hell and you can’t help falling for the man as we see him chip away at the wall Lavender has put up around herself. I loved this couple, I loved seeing Tyler teach Lavender lessons in love and life and I loved the plot. Another great addition to the Seattle Steelheads.

One may think Tyler has it all: fame, money and every woman he wants, even a fiancé. Although he tried very hard to keep up with his badass image, deep down his heart he is sweet and caring.
After winning the second ring with his team, he has to go on a remote island to honour his uncle death and inherit his mansion. Because he wants to stay low after an car accident and the break up with his fiancé, he decided to stay for the 90 days stated in his uncle will so he could inherit the mansion and the surroundings. After an unexpected incident ( and hilarious) he meets the girl next door and is attracted to her sassy and curvy shape, which is totally the opposite of his usual preference in women.
Lavander want to keep the mansion for the veterans of the island and helps them and tries everything to make Tyler leave and give up.
The chemistry between them is of the charts and of course they become enemies with benefits with a lot of lol moments that you really don’t expect 🔥🔥.Can she get over her hate for jocks after many bad relationships and her father’s departure when she was young and allow her heart to believe in a future with Tyler? Can he reconsider his decision to never get married and start a life full of the best banter and challenges with his purple lady?

To say that Tyler has had a chip on his shoulders for a while, is an understatement. Cocky, showboating quarterback just giving attitude in a fake persona; However, that's not really who he is. You could tell in book 1 of this series that he had things he was hiding, but just not sure what it was. He actually has feelings but unsure of how to show them. Then he meets Lavender... And he starts to slowly creep out of his shell. The chemistry between them is there, and they truly are good for one another.

I read the original version of this book 'Forward Passes' Ave my original review didn't give me the save feelings. I liked both books, but maybe there had been 3 years between versions, and I was hot of the first book (which you see a very negative version of Tyler) , so that may have asked my original Outlook on Tyler at the time. However my ending version of him is exactly the same. I did love him. You could completely see his transformation from the beginning of the book to the end.

I voluntarily reviewed this book from the author. I liked this book just as much, or slightly more than I did the first time. This is a must read.

Jami Davenport scores a touchdown with SNAP DECISION. Seattle Steelhead's quarterback Tyler Harris is willed a run-down mansion on an island in the Pacific Northwest. He keeps bumping heads with his new next-door neighbor, Lavender Mead, who is not a fan of football players. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.

SNAP DECISION is a clever and fun read. I enjoyed the banter between Tyler and Lavender. They are very entertaining. Tyler is a complicated character. He is a talented football player who lost his passion for the game. He’s questioning his worth. He doesn’t let people see the real him. Lavender is an enjoyable character. It is understandable why she does not like/trust football players. I like how their lives overlapped.

I enjoyed the plot. I thought the history behind Twin Cedars was interesting. I love Cougar the cat. I liked the cuss jar, it added amusing moments. All the details made the story perfect. I always enjoy Jami Davenport ‘s writing style. It flows well and is entertaining throughout. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Tyler Harris Ultimate Bad Boy. Two Time Winning Super Bowl Champion Quarterback but a man who feels nothing. How has he gotten so off track but when his Uncle dies and leaves him his family home what he doesn’t expect are the stipulations but mostly he doesn’t expect Lavender Mead.
Lavender is a woman living on the island where she lives a nice life working in the Veterans club making sure they are taken care of, spending time with her Mom but she doesn’t feel the fulfillment she should until the day her life changes when unexpectedly Tyler Harris stumbles into her life.
The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts they are two people who have demons but when Together they feel the can overcome it all. Watching there relationship develop you can’t help feel like you on standing on the side lines cheering them on to become the couple that they are meant to be. They will have to overcome some pretty intense obstacles but in the end all you hope is that they find what they are looking for and become the couple that deserves that HEA.

This is book #3 in the Seattle Steelheads series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

Tyler has just won his second Super Bowl. Yet he feels nothing at all. He is numb. Something has to give. When tragedy strikes, he finds himself doing the last thing he would have suspected.

Lavender had plans to be the owner of a cat. She was to upgrade a historical home. Then her friend dies, and it is all gone. Even the cat. Should she stick around and teach the new owner what it is like to appreciate the beauty that is where she lives?

This book was completely unexpected. A whole new concept, and a very good pace. The characters start out basically hating one another. I found the emotions to feel real and the story to be different. It was interesting for sure. The characters are interesting and their reactions to one another entertaining.

“And a Jock’s heart grew 2 sizes that day.”
I don’t know why my mind kept taking me to The Grinch as I read this book; maybe because it’s the holiday season, or maybe that’s just the way my twisted mind works.. I digress.
Lavender and Tyler do have some Grinch like characteristics; Lavender hates Jocks, as she has been burned by “their” kind one too many times. While Tyler seems to have a blanket hatred of many people and things at the beginning of the book. Snap Decision ended up being about redemption, mostly a redemption of one’s self. The two main characters learned to love themselves as they learned to love each other, and that journey was almost as sweet as their own tempestuous road to love. These characters had me laughing just as much as I wanted to shake some sense into them at times. They definitely were not picture-perfect characters with an insta-love story; instead they had meat and gristle to them that made them interesting to read about. I won’t give away the ending, but I would recommend anyone try this book out for themselves.

Tyler has the world at his feet, money, fame and women but he’s just not feeling it. After a scandal and breaking up with his long term girlfriend, Tyler retreats to a remote island to lick his wounds and contemplate what to do next. Lavender should hate jocks, Tyler is everything she hates but she can’t keep away from him. Can Tyler break down lavenders barriers and show her not all jocks are the same? Can lavender give Tyler and love a chance? You will have to read to find out!

This was a fun and entertaining read, I loved the bickering and banter between Tyler and Lavender, the chemistry between the characters was off the charts. I loved that we get to see them both mature over the course of the book and see their barriers fall bit by bit. I read this book in one sitting, I was hooked from the start, another wonderful read from this fabulous author.

5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

Jami Davenport is my go to sports author. Snap Decision was a great book. I loved Tyler. He was a man that appeared to have it all, but sometimes all the fame and fortune can be too much. Now after a very bad breakup, Tyler just needs a break from it all. Lavender doesn't like jocks or men involved in the sports field. Lavender's dad left them for a career in college football. The last thing she wants is to get involved with the man next door. A man who could hurt her worse than her father did.

I loved the chemistry between Lavender and Tyler. I loved watching the walls that Lavender has built around her heart crumble. I loved Tyler getting to see that there is life after having your heart broke. I loved watching them pick up the pieces and learn to love again.

Jami Davenport has written a great book. I loved every second of it. Please check it out.

Originally published as Forward Passes in the series and gives us Tyler's story, who was introduced in book one. Yeah, he's arrogant. Yeah, he can be an ass. But it's all am image he projects. Lavender has been burned by men involved in sports. She had no wish to get involved with an athlete. When Tyler's uncle dies and leaves him the family estate on an island with poor cell services and a stipulation he can't leave the island, the two of them are thrown together. He's introduced to the inhabitants and we glimpse some of the heartache of his past. Lavender learns that those she trusted had lied to her. Tyler learns that he can trust himself again and maybe get that third ring. Jami one again delivers a hot book with emotional ups and downs. I wanted Lavender to find her HEA with her family. And I wanted Tyler to live the game again. The additional content that has been added and updated is a definite plus.

Holy moly. Snap Decision had me in a ball of mess with Tyler and Lavender. I could not help but root these characters on. Jami Davenport, and forgive me if I have already said this, is the queen of Sports Romance genre. She never makes you feel like you are reading the same story plot over and over.

Snap Decision is about finding out the realities in life. Figuring out what is no longer the truth. I could not stop reading this book and my head has been stuck in this book world for days to come. If you love a good sports romance, Snap Decision is a perfect read for you!

Tyler has focused his entire life on football and he has the success to prove it. Two time Super Bowl champion, wealth and any woman he could want he should be on top of the world which doesn’t explain why he feels unfulfilled. After a breakup that caused a media storm, he has retreated to the home he inherited from his great uncle to regroup.

Ever since her father left Lavender and her mother to become a college coach, she wants nothing to do with athletes. This doesn’t explain why she is so attracted to Tyler, her new neighbor, especially since his arrival is throwing a crimp into her plans.

Humorous banter, hot chemistry and two characters that are so much more than they first appear. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Sometimes Tyler gets overeager and means business, “oh, yeah, I will. I definitely will.” He pushed off the wall, grabbed her hand, and headed for the truck. His long strides ate up the ground. She ran to keep up." Tyler has all the feels for his woman, “the devil isn’t on my heels. He’s underneath me.” Her mass of red curls tickled his chest as she leaned down and claimed his mouth. Damn, but he loved an aggressive woman." Tyler is very vocal about his thoughts, “you’re making me crazy. I can’t get enough of you. All day long, I think about having *** with you. I wake in the middle of the night and think about it some more.” I liked this book, I loved Tyler.

4 1/2 sassy stars. I really liked Tyler and Lavender’s story. I just love her spunk and sass and the way she verbally spars with the cocky yet very sexy Tyler. He is not used to women not falling all over him and much to his surprise he is thoroughly enjoying the attitude his fiery new neighbor gives him. Tyler is not everything she thought he was though which she learns through their “ I don’t like you sex” relationship. Their chemistry is off the charts so they are super sexy, hot and steamy together. But they are so much more and that is what sneaks up on both of them without them noticing. I love the storyline all around.

Thank you Jami Davenport for bringing us into your world! I have enjoyed my time spent reading Snap Decision and I hope you take the time to enjoy the perfect writing that draws you into not only the story but the characters minds and struggles.
Tyler and Lavender are two kindred spirits. Hurt, lost and searching for peace from personal heartache in Lavender’s case and professional uncertainty in Tyler’s situation. They may not like each other in the beginning but their chemistry was hard to deny and that was enough to catapult them into a relationship that neither of them ever expected.
I just loved these two and was rooting for them to finally find their HEA.
