Brianne Globig is entering her fifth year at Toledo in 2023-24. After serving as the interim head coach for the 2019-20 season, Globig was named the program’s head coach on April 28, 2020. 

UT had many high points throughout the 2022-23 season that started to shift the trajectory of the program. The Rockets won three head-to-head duals before finishing seventh at the MAC Championships. Rockets record 36 personal-best times, 15 season-best time, eight podium finishes at the conference meet, with Lauren Kilgore and Kennedy Lovell earned Second-Team All-MAC honors. A group of foru Rockets led by Jovana Duric raced the 5K of the CSCAA Open Water Championships in Miami, Fla. for a 15th place team finish, and ended the season with a 40th-place finish at the 2023 CSCAA National Invitational Championships. 

Toledo turned in many memorable performances in and out of the pool during the 2021-22 season. At the MAC Championships, the Rockets produced 12 season-best swims, 21 personal-best swims and set three school records. Those records included the 200 (1:32.30) and 400 freestyle relay teams, and Kennedy Lovell in the 100 Free (49.62). Globig had four athletes swim at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships, where Lovell broke the school record in the 200 Free (1:47.17) and the team finished 24th with 70 team points. 

In the classroom, the Rockets have earned the highest team GPA of all Toledo varsity teams in multiple semesters. Most recently, Globig’s team turned in a 3.754 team GPA with 11 student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0 GPA, and 16 earning Academic All-MAC honors. 

In the 2022 spring semester, the Rockets earned the program’s highest-ever 3.825 GPA, with the addition of 15 Academic All-MAC selections, and Joelle Gallais and Madison Giglio earning CSCAA Scholar All-American honors The Rockets have earned the honor of CSCAA Scholar All-America Team every semester under Glibig and 13 of the last 14 consecutive semesters, including the highest GPA of all Division I women’s programs in the fall 2022 semester.

Globig came to Toledo after serving as head coach for four seasons at East Stroudsburg University. Prior to her four seasons at ESU, Globig worked as a graduate assistant at California (Pa.) in 2013-14. 

At ESU, Globig coached eight individuals who qualified for the PSAC championships in the 2018-19 season. Globig led the Warriors to their best finish at the PSAC Championships in 16 years during the 2017-18 season, as seven Warriors combined for 27 scoring performances at the conference meet. ESU saw two individuals qualify for “A” finals for the first time in five years, with two swimmers earning a top-10 finish. The Warriors also earned a fifth-place finish in the 400 free relay, their best relay finish since 2004. ESU also had a strong showing in the classroom in 2017-18, registering a 3.34 team grade-point average and earned CSCAA Scholar All-America team honors.

In Globig’s one year at California (Pa.), the Vulcans saw 13 PSAC qualifiers and one NCAA Division II national qualifier. Cal U swimmers also broke one school individual record, one relay record, and one pool record.

Prior to her work at Cal U, Globig was a four-year swimmer at Bloomsburg from 2008-12. She qualified for the PSAC Championships in three freestyle events during her last three seasons with the Huskies. Globig also earned NCAA “B” standard times in 2010, 2011, and 2012 in two different events. 

A four-year letterwinner, Globig graduated from Bloomsburg in 2012 with a degree in pre-physical therapy and health science. In 2014, she earned her master’s degree in sport management with a concentration in intercollegiate athletic administration from California (Pa.).
