JUNIOR SEASON (2019-20)
Moretti finished his third season with the Red Raiders averaging 13.0 points per game and leading the team with 67 3-pointers made and going 92 of 102 from the free-throw line… He was named a CoSIDA Academic All-America and earned Big 12 Honorable Mention Selection… He led the Big 12 and was sixth nationally by shooting 90.2 percent at the line and will go into his senior season as the NCAA active leader at the line where he is 213-for-235 (90.6 percent) through 106 games in his career… Moretti scored a career-high during the season when he went for 25 points in a home win over West Virginia where he was 6-for-10 from the field including going 4-for-5 on 3-pointers and 9-for-9 at the free-throw line… He scored in double figures in 22 of 31 games and led Tech in scoring in nine games during his junior season… Moretti began the season by scoring 13 points in the first two games against Eastern Illinois and Bethune-Cookman and dropping 19 on Tennessee State… He recorded a previous career high with 23 points against Creighton in the Las Vegas Classic and then scored 18 in the win over No. 1 Louisville by going 8-for-8 from the free-throw line… He was named to the Las Vegas Classic All-Tournament Team… Moretti made two or more 3-pointers in 21 games during the season with four in games against Tennessee State, at West Virginia, at home against WVU and against TCU and Kansas State in home games… Moretti finished the season shooting 38.3 percent on 3-pointers where he was 67-for-175… He made two 3-pointers in the finale against No. 1 Kansas and led Tech with 18 points by also going 4-for-4 at the line… In conference play he averaged 12.8 points per game… After three seasons, Moretti has scored 969 points and is ninth in program history with 166 3-pointers made.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2018-19)
Moretti earned Big 12 Conference Third-Team and NCAA Elite 90 honors in a sophomore season where he led the nation with a 92.4 free-throw percentage (97-for-105) and averaged 11.5 points and 2.4 assists per game… In conference play, he was 69-for-129 (53.5 %) from the field, 46-for-86 (53.5 %) and 54-for-58 (93.1 %) from the free-throw line… He led Tech for the season with 73 3-pointers and finished at 45.9 percent through a 38-game schedule where he started each game… Moretti shot 49.8 percent from the field for the season with 134 field-goals made… He scored a career-high 21 points in a non-conference win over Arkansas where made three 3-pointers and was 6-for-7 from the free-throw line… Moretti scored in double figures in 25 games, including going for 20 points in games against Oklahoma State and in the regular-season finale at Iowa State to help lead the Red Raiders to the program’s first-ever Big 12 Conference regular-season championship… On his home court, Moretti averaged 11.8 points per game and was 47-for-49 at the free-throw line as the Red Raiders went 17-1 at home… In the win at ISU, Moretti was 4-for-6 on 3-pointers and also 4-for-4 at the free-throw line… His season was also highlighted by going 12-for-12 from the free-throw line in a win at Oklahoma State where he finished with those 20 points that included two 3-pointers… Moretti made three 3-pointers in the national championship game and finished with 15 points against Virginia… He scored in double figures in five of six NCAA Tournament games including a 15-point performance in the Sweet 16 win over Michigan where he was 3-for-4 from beyond the arc… He had a career-high five 3-pointers in an early-season win over Mississippi Valley State and finished the season with 23 games with at least two 3-pointers… Throughout the NCAA Tournament, Moretti averaged 11.3 points per game with nine 3-pointers and was 13-for-15 at the free-throw line…. After two seasons and 75 games played, he has now scored 566 points, has made 99 career 3-pointers and is 121-for-133 (91.0 %) from the free-throw line.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2017-18)
Moretti secured 3.5 points, 1.1 assists and 0.8 rebounds per game as a true freshman … One of seven players to appear in all 37 games … His lone start came against Abilene Christian (Dec. 22) … Tallied 11 of his 15 games with five or more points against nonconference opponents … Dished out 42 assists which was second among bench players … Pumped in 10 points, two assists and two steals versus South Alabama (Nov. 10) in season debut … First career points came on a three-pointer at the 15:59 mark of the second half … Notched eight points and a season’s best six assists without a turnover against Wofford (Nov. 22) … Provided nine points versus No. 22 Nevada (Dec. 5) … Filled the box score with eight points, three assists and a season-high three steals against Rice (Dec. 16) … Fired in 14 points and three rebounds versus Florida Atlantic (Dec. 19) … Chipped in five points and two assists during Texas Tech’s win at No. 10 Kansas (Jan. 2) … Garnered a Big 12 season-high seven points at TCU (Feb. 3) … Added five points and three rebounds at No. 20 West Virginia (Feb. 26) … Upped his scoring average to 4.8 PPG in Texas Tech’s four NCAA Tournament games (March 15-25) … Collected seven points and two assists against No. 11 Purdue (March 23) … Picked up all seven points versus No. 2 Villanova (March 25) during second half.

PERSONAL: Son of Mariolina Tozzi and Paolo Moretti. Has one brother, Niccolo Moretti. His father, Paolo, played professional basketball in Italy and Greece from 1988-2000 and is currently a pro coach in Italy.
